Honghuang: Senior Brother of the Chan Sect, I am Guangchengzi
Chapter 167: The Two Jade Immortals
Chapter 167: The Twelve Jade Immortals
Although Guangchengzi’s method of setting up formations was not as good as that of the immortals of Jiejiao, it was not much worse.
Especially the formation he set up, he used up almost all his strength. Even if he killed a corpse of the God of Hunyuan to break through, he would still lose a lot of skin before getting through.
The reason he did this was to select the best monks.
He was not a madman who deliberately stopped Yuanshi Tianzun from accepting disciples. Although he had used all his strength to set up these formations, there was still a flaw in each of them.
As long as they find these defects, they will be able to pass through with ease, and this test is what the cultivators’ qualifications and luck are.
After all, these fragments are not motionless, but are constantly changing. If you are not lucky enough to find them, you will be kicked out of the formation.
Guangchengzi was merciless when testing these monks, and his punishments were extremely severe. All the monks who wanted to join the Chan sect felt extremely miserable and turned away.
You know, even if Dapeng throws out those who try to break through in time, some people will die directly in these formations.
It was not until a life was saved that these monks who were madly seeking disciples finally became afraid and dared not to continue to challenge the barriers. Instead, they turned around and sought worship from the Jiejiao Sect.
If the difficulty of becoming a disciple of the orthodox sect is beyond imagination, then the requirements of becoming a disciple of the evil sect are simple beyond imagination.
It is very simple to join Jiejiao, you just need to pass the formation.
However, the formation of Jiejiao was much simpler, and Zhao Gongming, who was responsible for recruiting disciples, was not as perverted as Guangchengzi, who actually set up the Small Zhoutian Star Formation and the Small Zhuxian Sword Formation.
He just set up a small formation, just to stop those with low cultivation.
Comparing the two, naturally more people choose to join the Jiejiao, and not many people go to explore the mountain paths of the Chenjiao.
Guangchengzi did not care about this, but continued to strengthen his requirements, and even added a few more formations, in order to screen out those who had shallow roots, insufficient foundation, and weak luck.
However, even if only a few people went to worship the Chan sect, once the number increased, there would be quite a few coming up, and the first person who successfully passed the level also surprised Guangchengzi.
“It’s actually him?”
Looking at the old man in front of him with a thin face, big ears hanging down to his shoulders, a bun on his head, and wearing a Taoist robe in the colors of heaven and earth, Guang Chengzi said with a hint of surprise: “Uncle Master Randeng, if you want to go to see the master, you can go directly up the mountain without going through this level.”
This old man turned out to be Randang, the great deity who once listened to teachings in Zixiao Palace with Yuanshi Tianzun. Not to mention his cultivation level, just in terms of seniority, he was on the same level as the Six Saints.
Such a being actually came to break into the disciple-recruiting formation. Even though Guangchengzi had expected it, he was still a little surprised.
Randeng said with a smile: “My friend Guangchengzi, what you said is wrong. I came here to ask Senior Brother Yuanshi for the great way, so I am here to serve as his disciple. I only hope that I can join the Chan Sect as soon as possible.”
After hearing this, even Guangchengzi had to admire Randang’s character.
No matter what he was thinking in his mind, Guangchengzi admitted that he could not swallow his pride and take a senior brother as his master. If he were asked to call Xuantian Huofeng his master now, it would be more painful than death.
Even though Yuanshi Tianzun’s cultivation is far superior to that of Randang, they are brothers from the same sect after all. It is impossible that the elder brother can become a father directly because he is more powerful than the younger brother.
And what Ran Deng did was tantamount to recognizing his sworn brother as his father, which was truly beyond everyone’s imagination.
Guang Chengzi did not say much about this, but just nodded and said: “This matter is of great importance, and I am unable to make a decision. I can only ask Master Ran Deng to stay here for a while.”
Naturally, Ran Deng did not want to offend this senior brother of the Chan sect. After all, no matter whether his move would succeed or not, Guang Chengzi’s status in the Chan sect would always be second only to Yuanshi Tianzun.
Offending the other party was no different from offending Yuanshi Tianzun, so he just laughed and said it was nothing, without any of his former majesty, and just stood quietly aside.
Guangchengzi nodded slightly and continued to screen his disciples. He talked to Randeng from time to time, at least to avoid making the atmosphere too ugly.
Just as the Jiejiao had recruited several thousand disciples, Guangchengzi finally welcomed a true disciple of the Chenjiao.
I saw a Taoist priest flying towards me on a crane, who was as elegant and unrestrained as the breeze and the bright moon.
This crane is just a white crane that can be seen everywhere in the mountains, but it can pass through these numerous formations. It is obvious that it is protected by this Taoist.
The fact that he was able to successfully lead a white crane through the formation without losing its life shows that this Taoist has high cultivation and profound Taoism, and is not an ordinary person.
When Guangchengzi saw this, he was delighted and quickly waved for him to come over.
When the Taoist saw Guang Chengzi and the other two, he did not hesitate and immediately dismounted from his crane, came up to the two, clasped his fists and said, “Chi Jingzi greets the two great immortals. I wonder what I should address you two great immortals as?”
Guang Chengzi smiled and said, “My name is Guang Chengzi, and I am the first disciple of Yuanshi Tianzun. This is my uncle Master Randeng, who once listened to the teachings of Yuanshi Tianzun in Zixiao Palace.”
When Chi Jingzi heard that these two people had such a background, he was shocked and wanted to pay his respects immediately, but Guang Chengzi stopped him and he couldn’t pay his respects at all. Guang Chengzi shook his head and said, “Since you have passed the level, you are the master’s disciple. How can you pay such respects to me? We are brothers, you can just call me senior brother.”
Chi Jingzi then said, “Hello, Senior Brother, but I don’t know when I should go to see Master?”
Guang Chengzi pointed at these formations and said, “I don’t know either, but Master once said that his great Dao would only be passed on to twelve people. You and I count as two, so we only need to wait for ten more people.”
Chi Jingzi nodded as if he understood, and then remained silent. He followed the example of the other two and closed his eyes, waiting for the arrival of other Yuanshi disciples.
After Chi Jingzi, ten more people arrived, namely Huanglong Zhenren, Lujiasun, Taiyi Zhenren, Lingbao Dafashi, Manjusri Bodhisattva, Samantabhadra Zhenren, Cihang Taoist, Yuding Zhenren, Daoxing Tianzun, and Qingxu Daode Zhenjun.
Among these ten people, the one who surprised Guangchengzi the most was Zhenren Huanglong.
“I didn’t expect that this Huanglong Zhenren is actually the descendant of Zulong. No wonder he came to worship Yuanshi Tianzun as his master. He has such a strong karma. If he doesn’t find a person with great fortune to suppress it, I’m afraid he will die soon.”
Guangchengzi looked at the pale and thin man in front of him and felt that the other party had a huge karma and was extremely sinful. There were countless bad karmas gathering in the dark, waiting to drag him into death at any time.
If there hadn’t been a stream of water vapor that suppressed the fate of Master Huanglong, he would have died long ago. How could you still be alive today?
However, all this was not something he could control. Only after he had recruited these eleven people did Guangchengzi withdraw the formation and lead the immortals to Yuxu Palace to receive orders.
When they arrived outside Yuxu Palace, Guangchengzi did not rush in, but said to the White Crane Boy at the door: “Tong’er, report to Master for me and tell him that all the disciples have returned to their positions. Please make the decision, Master.”
After hearing this, the White Crane Boy bowed and said crisply, “Yes, I will follow your orders, Senior Brother.”
Afterwards, he pushed open the door of Yuxu Palace, then gently closed it before leaving.
If Guangchengzi wanted to enter Yuxu Palace on normal days, he would naturally not go through so much trouble, but could just push the door directly.
The reason why he asked Baihe Tongzi to report on his behalf today was to set an example for many disciples. That is, he, the eldest brother, had to go through these steps to enter Yuxu Palace, let alone them.
It is also to prevent some fellow disciples from acting rashly and angering Yuanshi Tianzun, which would be bad.
The reason why Guangchengzi cared so much about his fellow disciples was naturally because he had his own plans.
That is, after a period of time, he will start to establish his own Taoist lineage, and his fellow apprentices have Yuanshi Tianzun as their master, so their future achievements will not be low. It is just right for him to pull them over to help him establish his religion.
And if there are any benefits in the process of establishing the sect, he will not be stingy, but will give them all to his junior fellow apprentice. After all, it is better to be close to each other and help each other.
The immortals did not have to wait too long before the White Crane Boy appeared. He bowed to them and said, “The master has already known about this matter. Please enter the palace to meet him.”
Afterwards, the immortals did not dare to hesitate and immediately entered the Yuxu Palace under the leadership of Guangchengzi.
At this time, Yuanshi Tianzun was sitting on a jade bed, with a cloud of celebration in the heavens above his head. The primordial world was hidden in it, with the sun, moon and stars shining in between. There were also five-colored lights coloring the heavens, and the eight-tone fairy music resounded throughout the universe. Countless golden lamps, golden lotuses, necklaces, and hanging beads fell from the cloud of celebration, like water dripping from the eaves, endlessly and continuously.
Under the auspicious clouds, the Jade Purity Saint held the Three Treasures, Ruyi, in his hands, and the three beads of Fu, Lu and Shou shone with immortal light. Thousands of auspicious scenes emerged, and the immortals were simply illuminated by the light, and felt that their magic power had improved a bit, and their luck had also become much stronger.
Guang Chengzi was the first to kneel on the ground and shouted, “Disciple Guang Chengzi greets Master!”
Following Guangchengzi’s example, the eleven people knelt on the ground in an orderly manner, shouting “Greetings to the Master”. Only Randeng remained standing there, not knowing what to do.
Yuanshi Tianzun opened his eyes, but without any movement, the immortals stood up involuntarily.
However, he ignored the eleven new disciples and looked at Randeng, saying calmly: “Junior Brother Randeng, since I am your fellow disciple, how can I be your master? Please go back.”
Ran Deng said quickly: “Ran Deng really wants to listen to the saint’s teachings all the time. If the saint does not want to accept me as a disciple, then I can only wear boy’s clothes, or act as a cleaner and accompany him.”
After hearing this, Yuanshi Tianzun could only shake his head and said, “Forget it, but I really can’t be your master. This is an offense to Daozu. In this case, you will be the deputy leader of my Chan Sect. How about this?”
Ran Deng did not expect that Yuanshi Tianzun would be so generous as to give him a deputy leader. He originally thought that he could only be a guardian or something like that, so he was naturally overjoyed and nodded in agreement.
Yuanshi Tianzun ignored it and looked back at the many disciples in front of him. A rare hint of warmth appeared in his calm eyes.
“You have become my disciples today, so I have to give you something. Otherwise, Guang Chengzi will think I am stingy.”
After hearing this, Guang Chengzi said: “Master loves to joke too much, how dare I talk about you behind your back?”
Yuanshi Tianzun pointed at him and said with a smile: “You naughty disciple, is there anything in the world that you dare not do? Today I will give you something first, so that people will know that my elder brother of the Chan Sect is no worse than anyone else.”
Seeing that Guangchengzi could actually joke with Yuanshi Tianzun in public, all the disciples also realized the status of this eldest brother.
