Chapter 177: Is someone trying to harm my brother?
The two arrived at a nearby shopping mall. After getting out of the car, Longhe subconsciously put on his hoodie and touched the glasses on his nose.
"Will this thing work indefinitely?"
Although the effects of the [Holy Radiance Disguise Mask] had been verified, Longhe's habits after becoming a celebrity still made him extremely vigilant, carefully checking that there were no paparazzi or sasaeng fans around.
Ding Heng assured him, "Don't worry, what your brother gives you is definitely good stuff!"
"Oh……"
Long He relaxed slightly and followed Ding Heng out of the garage, taking the elevator up to the cinema on the sixth floor of the mall.
The two walked to the ticket counter, and Longhe looked up at the showtimes scrolling on the electronic screen.
"What are you looking at?"
"You choose."
"Let's take this one. I heard the special effects are great!"
Long He pointed to a 3D sci-fi blockbuster: "I have a good relationship with its director, and I will probably sing the theme song for his next movie."
Ding Heng opened his phone and was about to place an order when Long He grabbed him and pressed him down.
"I'll do it."
She pulled her phone out of her pocket, feigning difficulty: "Bro, the last show only has couple seats left, you see..."
Seeing her expression that seemed to say "I'm hiding something," Ding Heng didn't bother to expose her.
"Okay, okay, we'll take the couple's seats. We're brothers, we don't care about that."
"Then I'll place the order..."
After printing out the ticket stubs at the ticket machine and buying two pairs of 3D glasses, Longhe immediately grabbed Ding Heng and headed towards the ticket gate, walking quickly and hurriedly.
In screening room number 10, the so-called "couple's seats" are actually soft sofas where you can even lie down.
The lights in the screening room were still on, and GG was playing on a loop on the screen.
Long He sat upright, his hands neatly placed on his knees, glancing at his side every now and then out of the corner of his eye.
Fearing discovery, she didn't dare remove the [Holy Radiance Disguise Mask] and instead put on the 3D glasses. With the two glasses stacked together, her vision was a little uncomfortable.
Ding Heng turned to look at her: "Nervous?"
"Who's nervous?"
Long He turned his face away, his tone stiff.
Ding Heng suddenly reached out and took off the two pairs of glasses from Long He's nose.
Long He was startled and instinctively raised his hand to block: "What are you doing?!"
"Isn't it uncomfortable to wear two pairs of glasses?"
Ding Heng returned the 3D glasses and put the [Holy Radiance Disguise Mask] into his pocket.
"No, I'm scared..."
"It's pitch black, who could see you?"
Ding Heng reached out and pulled her into his arms, gently comforting her.
Long He glanced around. The screening room was pitch black, and no one noticed that she, the big star, was sitting in the center with her arm around a man's shoulder.
Ding Heng tightened his grip on Long He, holding her even closer.
Long He yielded to the man's strength and leaned in completely into Ding Heng's arms.
She tried to relax her body, but she couldn't suppress her nervousness.
If this gets discovered, it'll be trending on social media for days...
On the screen, the protagonist is engaged in a fierce battle with the villain, amidst deafening explosions.
Long He kept his eyes glued to the screen, but constantly watched his surroundings, afraid that someone might turn around and look at him.
Ding Heng teased, "Haven't you ever seen a movie with anyone?"
Long He replied in a muffled voice, "Didn't I show it to you before?"
"Then why are you so nervous?"
"Is it the same thing?!"
Long He lightly punched Ding Heng in annoyance.
I remember watching a movie with Ding Heng. We were just two little kids, barely out of our teens. We'd share a bucket of popcorn, sitting in regular seats, and halfway through the movie we'd start fighting over it.
Unlike now...
She took a deep breath, stopped thinking about anything else, and continued to snuggle into her brother's arms.
On the screen, the explosions continued.
Throughout the movie, Long He watched it absentmindedly.
Finally, the movie ended, and the lights came on.
Long He almost reflexively jumped away from Ding Heng's arms and reached out to snatch the glasses from Ding Heng's pocket.
"Don't rush."
"How can I not be in a hurry..."
Before Long He could finish speaking, someone walked by, startling her so much that she quickly buried her head in Ding Heng's arms again.
Seeing his brother huddled in his arms like a chick, Ding Heng wasn't in a hurry at all, and even started taking advantage of his brother.
Since becoming a celebrity, my brother's skin has taken really good care of itself; it's gotten smoother and smoother...
After most of the people had left, he took out the [Holy Radiance Disguise Mask] and handed it over.
Longhe took it and placed it on the bridge of his nose, then pulled up the hoodie, covering himself up completely.
Ding Heng chuckled: "Is it really necessary?"
Long He glared at him, then got up and followed the crowd out.
Stepping out of the screening room, probably still shaken, Longhe quickened his pace toward the elevator.
Ding Heng caught up with her and grabbed her wrist.
Why are you running?
"I didn't run away."
Long He was not as strong as Ding Heng, so he had no choice but to stop.
She lowered her head, her hoodie hood covering most of her face, revealing only a small part of her chin.
Ding Heng released her wrist and reached out to remove her hood.
"Don't be afraid, this will only attract more attention."
"Oh……"
Long He pursed his lips.
The two took the elevator down to the first floor and walked out of the mall.
Long He stood on the steps, her gaze sweeping across the bustling pedestrian street, but no one gave her a second glance.
She reached out and touched the glasses on the bridge of her nose. Although it wasn't the first time she had worn them, a sense of unreality still welled up inside her.
How exactly was this little gadget invented?
The two walked slowly along the pedestrian street until they passed a milk tea shop.
"Want another drink?"
"Um."
"You're going on stage the day after tomorrow, will there be any problems?"
"What's wrong with having a drink...?"
The two walked to the counter, and Longhe first ordered a taro boba drink, and then a mango pomelo sago drink.
The waiter handed over the milk tea. Longhe inserted a straw, took a sip from each side, and after carefully checking, handed the taro boba to Ding Heng.
"Here, this is delicious, you can have it!"
"Yeah?"
Ding Heng reluctantly accepted the milk tea; it was a bit too sweet.
The two continued walking forward when Long He suddenly spoke.
"Ding Heng".
"Um?"
"What kind of person is Uncle Ding's new girlfriend?"
"They're quite wealthy."
"that's all?"
"What else can we do?"
"That……"
Long He blinked and gossiped, "Isn't Uncle Ding being kept by a sugar daddy?"
Ding Heng nearly choked on his milk tea, coughing twice: "What are you talking about? They're in a normal relationship."
"Oh……"
Long He responded with a sound of agreement, nodded thoughtfully, and then began to look Ding Heng up and down.
Ding Heng was bewildered: "What?"
"It's nothing."
Long He looked away and took another sip of milk tea: "I just suddenly felt that you were dressed too plainly."
Ding Heng looked down at himself. He was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt, dark gray casual pants, and canvas shoes.
"Aren't all college students like this?"
Long He didn't reply. He threw the milk tea cup in his hand into the trash can next to him, grabbed Ding Heng's wrist, and walked back.
"Come with me."
"Where to?"
Don't ask.
The two walked across the pedestrian street and entered a large shopping mall next door.
Longhe stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the fifth floor.
The elevator doors opened, revealing a whole floor dedicated to luxury streetwear menswear.
"Hey bro, what are you doing?"
"I'll buy you clothes."
Long He went into the store without looking back, picked up a light gray coat and held it up against Ding Heng, then nodded in satisfaction.
"Want to give it a try?"
The sales assistant brought the clothes over, and Long He shoved them into Ding Heng's arms, pushing him towards the fitting room.
"Give it a try."
Ding Heng walked into the fitting room with no other choice.
After changing his clothes, Long He looked Ding Heng up and down once again.
"good."
She walked over, reached out to straighten his collar, and then stepped back two paces to take a look.
"Turn around."
Ding Heng turned around.
"Lift up your sleeve a little."
Ding Heng raised his arm.
Longhe circled around him twice, then returned to him and tilted her head.
"I'll take this one."
She turned to the sales assistant: "Try a few more in different colors."
"Longhe".
"Um?"
That's enough.
"Much worse."
Longhe took another piece of clothing from the sales assistant and stuffed it into Ding Heng's arms.
"Keep trying."
Ding Heng sighed, turned around and walked back to the fitting room.
After nearly two hours of this ordeal, Ding Heng ended up with a huge pile of luxury men's clothing, all paid for by his friends using their credit cards.
As the two left the mall, Long He hummed a little tune, in a very good mood.
"Where to next?"
"Let's browse around some more."
Long He glanced around the floor plan and pointed to another end: "There's a styling studio over there. I heard the stylist used to be the go-to stylist for TVB."
"You want to get your hair done?"
"No, I just think your hair needs a trim."
Since the start of last semester, Ding Heng hasn't really taken care of his hair properly; his bangs have grown so long they're almost covering his eyes.
"Let's go."
Without giving Ding Heng a chance to refuse, Long He went into the studio first.
The styling studio is small, and the decor is minimalist industrial style.
A man in his early thirties approached, with slicked-back hair, wearing a black tight-fitting T-shirt, and a floral tattoo on his arm.
After a brief exchange, Ding Heng was pushed into a chair, and the tattooed Tony picked up a pair of scissors and began gesturing at his head.
Long He sat down on the sofa. Ding Heng sat with his legs crossed, playing on his phone, occasionally glancing up at his reflection in the mirror, a slight smile playing on his lips.
The scissors snipped away, and stray hairs slipped from Ding Heng's shoulders.
More than half an hour later, the tattooed Tony gave Ding Heng a quick wash, applied some hair wax, and styled it with his fingers.
"alright."
Ding Heng looked in the mirror.
Her bangs were cut short, revealing her entire face.
With high brow bones, deep-set eyes, and a sharp jawline, paired with his newly purchased luxury menswear, he really has that kind of style.
Tony, with his full-sleeve tattoo, asked, "How is it?"
Before Ding Heng could speak, Long He walked over first.
"Yes, it looks better than your old buzz cut."
"Did the buzz cut offend you?"
"Like a convict in a labor camp."
"Hey? You're looking down on your brother, huh?"
Ding Heng glared at Long He in the mirror, and Long He blinked innocently.
As the two walked out of the styling studio, Ding Heng had another bag in his hand, containing shampoo and hair wax recommended by the tattooed Tony.
Long He walked beside Ding Heng, glancing at him every now and then.
"What are you looking at?"
"Hmm... I've always thought that with a little makeup, your face is just as good as a male celebrity's."
"No way, I don't want to work with you."
"You think you're so great just because I praised you a couple of times?"
The two bickered as usual, took the elevator back to the garage, and put the bags they were carrying into the trunk.
The car drove out of the garage and merged into the traffic.
Long He spoke again.
"Ding Heng".
"Um?"
"You're saying this car belongs to your dad's girlfriend?"
"Um."
Long He remained silent for a few seconds, then suddenly uttered something astonishing.
"If you like it, do you want me to buy you one? It's not good to always drive someone else's car, and you'll easily get looked down upon."
Ding Heng's hand trembled, and he almost swerved the steering wheel.
"What did you say?"
I said I'd buy you a car.
Long He said calmly, "My budget is seventy or eighty, even around one hundred is fine. What brand do you want?"
Ding Heng was utterly dumbfounded.
"My dear Sister Long."
"What?"
"You make too much money as a celebrity, you don't know what to do with it, right?"
Don't take my kindness for granted!
Long He was furious when he heard this and instinctively raised his fist to punch Ding Heng, but then hesitated because Ding Heng was driving.
The car came to a stop in front of the hotel.
Long He unbuckled his seatbelt: "Ding Heng."
"Um?"
"Why are you being so formal with me? It's not shameful to use your brother's money."
"Okay, okay..."
Ding Heng gave a perfunctory response, but Long He took it very seriously.
"When I was a kid, I wanted a game console, and you saved up your breakfast money to buy it for me, didn't you? Now that I'm successful, why are you being so polite with me?"
Ding Heng remained silent.
Long He continued, "Anyway, just tell me if you need anything! And my credit card, use it if you want, don't worry about it..."
Ding Heng teased her deliberately, "Then how about giving the flowers to my girlfriend?"
Long He's lips twitched.
She turned her head and glared at Ding Heng, her cheeks puffed out slightly, like a hamster that had been provoked.
"you……"
Long He took a deep breath and exhaled, trying to suppress his emotions.
"Sure! Either way is fine!"
She gritted her teeth: "Just don't hold back with me!"
They were clearly furious, but they still had to pretend to be magnanimous.
Ding Heng realized that his brother really had the idea of keeping him as a mistress.
He sighed deeply, then suddenly reached out and took off the black-rimmed glasses from Long He's nose.
Long He was taken aback: "What are you doing?"
Ding Heng didn't say anything, but leaned over and opened his arms, pulling her into his embrace.
Long He froze.
Ding Heng wrapped his arms around her back, rested his chin on her shoulder, and breathed on the skin of her neck, causing a slight itch.
"W-What are you doing...?"
"It's nothing, just a hug, bro."
The car was quiet, with only the soft breathing of the two people inside.
Finally, Long He stepped out of Ding Heng's arms and put his glasses back on.
"I'm leaving."
"Yes, the concert went well."
"oh."
Longhe got out of the car, and his figure quickly disappeared behind the revolving door.
Ding Heng didn't linger long and drove to the Starbucks on the pedestrian street again, where Jiang Wen was still sitting in the same spot as yesterday.
"How is it?"
"They've all been photographed..."
Jiang Wen took out her camera and handed it to Ding Heng.
There are two photos in total, one showing Ding Heng embracing Long He in a movie theater, and the other showing them hugging at the hotel entrance.
Because Ding Heng had already removed the [Sacred Radiance Disguise Mask], Long He's face was clearly visible in the photo.
Jiang Wen recounted, "I've already sent the photos, and the boss is very happy. He'll be flying over with his team tomorrow to meet with you in person."
Ding Heng nodded, his expression unchanged.
Everything was as he had anticipated.
Two simple photos are definitely not enough to satisfy the other team's appetite, but once we meet, everything else will be much easier!
"Jiang Wen".
"Um?"
"Would you like to change jobs?"
"What?"
"I said, do you want to change jobs?"
"I... I'll think about it."
"Think about it quickly."
Jiang Wen met Ding Heng's gaze, looking puzzled.
Why?
Ding Heng sat down leisurely, a slight smile playing on his lips.
"Your company is probably going to go bankrupt soon..."
