Chapter 425 Donuts are so delicious

A few days later, one afternoon, at Terminal 2 of Honolulu International Airport in Hawaii.

Outside the jet bridge, a wide-body passenger plane emblazoned with the five-star red flag was quietly parked. Ground staff were conducting final checks before takeoff. Passengers with yellow skin dragged their suitcases and hurried through the boarding gate to board the flight.

"Mr. Xu, I will follow up on the supplementary agreement with the Solon Group throughout the process. Rest assured, there will be no problems."

Outside the boarding gate, Director Yang Ming stood in front of Xu Xi and said respectfully.

"Yes, if anything changes, report to me immediately."

Xu Xi nodded slightly, his arm naturally linked with Xu Nian's beside him.

Xu Nian's hands were covered with souvenirs that Xu Xi had just bought at the airport.

This girl can really buy things. If he hadn't been so full of things to carry, he probably would have emptied the duty-free shop and brought it back to China.

They spent some more time in Hawaii, exploring every scenic spot on the island.

From the sunset at Waikiki Beach to the lava ruins at Volcanoes National Park, I sampled the local steaks, pasta, and seafood.

As Xu Nian smelled the aroma of Western food wafting from the terminal restaurant, a faint greasy feeling rose in her stomach.

Their trip to Hawaii has finally come to an end, and they are about to embark on their journey home.

Xu Xi paused for a moment, then said, "Director Yang, I'll take your bodyguards with me."

Long Teng and his gang stood behind Xu Xi and Xu Nian, carrying suitcases, and waved goodbye to Yang Ming with smiles: "Goodbye, Brother Yang, let's get together again sometime."

Yang Ming's lips twitched, and he felt a pang of heartache.

Training a loyal and capable bodyguard can take months or even years and requires a lot of manpower and resources.

With just a casual remark from Mr. Xu, he took away the entire bodyguard team that he had painstakingly built up over many years in Hawaii. To say he wasn't heartbroken would be self-deception.

But he ultimately dared not disobey his superior's decision, so he could only suppress the grievances in his heart, force a respectful smile on his face, and nod in response: "President Xu's safety is the most important thing. You are the backbone of our group. As long as you are safe, this sacrifice is nothing."

He raised his head and then instructed Long Teng and the others, "Once we get to China, you must take good care of the two President Xus. You are all people I trained, so don't make me lose face."

Long Teng and his underlings all assured him, "Yes."

Xu Xi noticed the pain in Yang Ming's eyes, smiled, and comforted him, "Director Yang, once we return to China, I will recruit a group of outstanding veterans and send them to your side to fill your manpower gap."

The reason she took Long Teng and his henchmen away was not because she, Xu Xi, needed protection.

The security situation in China is far better than in Hawaii. Her own combat strength is already quite good, and with Xu Nian by her side who is even stronger than her, their personal safety is not a problem at all.

The reason Xu Xi took Long Teng and the others away was because he felt that Xu Nian was somewhat lonely in the country.

He didn't have many friends. Qi Yu had been teaching in remote mountains and wilderness, and when he wasn't around, he didn't even have anyone to talk to.

So she took Long Teng and the others from Yang Ming and brought them back to China to keep Xu Nian company.

Hearing this, Yang Ming breathed a sigh of relief: "Then thank you very much, President Xu. I wish you both a safe journey."

Xu Xi gave a soft "hmm," took Xu Nian's arm, turned around, and led Long Teng and the others step by step into the boarding gate.

After all passengers had boarded, the cabin door slowly closed, and the plane taxied gently on the runway. The roar of the engine grew louder and louder, and then it suddenly accelerated to full power, soaring into the sky, breaking through the clouds, and reaching the vast heavens.

At dawn and dusk, it landed steadily on the land of its homeland.

Xu Nian was almost the first to stand up, quickly walked off the plane, stood on the jet bridge, subconsciously closed her eyes, and took a deep breath.

The familiar scent of his homeland filled him with joy.

"What are you doing?" Xu Xi followed behind him, raising an eyebrow as she looked at his engrossed expression.

Xu Nian let out a heavy sigh and slowly opened her eyes: "I heard people online say that the air in North America is sweeter than the air in China. I tried it out in Hawaii, but it's just so-so. The air in China is still the most comfortable and reassuring."

Xu Xi rolled her eyes at him: "You believe that kind of thing? Some people say the donuts over there are delicious, but I haven't seen you eat more than a few bites."

Xu Nian immediately shook her head vigorously, her face showing some resistance: "No, no, I really can't eat that stuff."

In fact, he had heard similar comments online before.

He recalled the first time he went shopping in North America, he bought a big bag of donuts. But when he took a bite, they were so sweet they were cloying, like a whole pancake made of sugar. They were so cloying that he frowned and felt like his blood sugar was about to explode.

Even Xu Xi, who always loved sweets, kept his distance from this.

Finally, having no other choice, he handed all the remaining donuts to a beggar on the street who was holding a "hungry" sign.

The beggar must have been starving for a long time, because he took the bag and wolfed it down, munching on it while grinning foolishly and repeatedly muttering, "Donuts are so delicious."

"It's still better here in China," Xu Nian sighed sincerely, her eyes full of longing. "There's so much better food, and the prices are reasonable. We don't have to live in constant fear, and we don't have to worry about someone shooting us in the head from behind while we're walking down the street."

What he found most difficult to adjust to was the price of goods in North America.

Even a simple meal costs tens or hundreds of dollars, which pains him greatly, even though he is not short of money at all.

Keep in mind that this amount of money would be equivalent to a month's salary for an average person in China.

After his trip to Hawaii, he now feels like expensive, overpriced goods in airport shops are free.
