The dog that flipped through Chapter 418

Does this mean he has forgiven himself?

Xu Nian was stunned for a moment, and after she came to her senses, she was both surprised and delighted.

He never expected that such a lame excuse as "a dog that can do backflips" would actually fool Xu Xi into opening the door.

What did it mean when he squatted in front of Xu Xi's door a few days ago, apologizing and begging for forgiveness, talking himself hoarse but not getting a single response from her?

Is this just self-pity?

Never mind, as long as Xu calms down.

He immediately put on a grinning face, pulled Xu Xi into his arms, brushed aside her bangs, and gently kissed her smooth forehead.

"Hehe, I knew you still care about me. I'm sorry, I was wrong, I'll never do the opposite of you again. If you don't let me touch you, I absolutely won't touch you, I promise."

Xu Xi rolled her eyes at him: "Stop talking nonsense. If I don't see a dog doing a backflip today, you can forget about touching me again."

"Hehe, definitely, definitely." Xu Nian chuckled and scratched his head, then took her wrist and led Xu Xi out of the room.

He made a point of not inviting Long Teng and the others on this trip.

When it comes to coaxing people, you have to put aside all pride and be as humble as you can be.

If his mischievous friends saw him like this, they would make fun of him for the next year.

After leaving the hotel, the two did not drive, but set off on foot.

The movie theater wasn't far from the hotel; it was just a short walk away, so there was no need to drive there.

On the way, Xu Nian took the opportunity of crossing the road to secretly hold Xu Xi's small hand.

Seeing that she didn't resist and even tightened her grip slightly, Xu Nian knew that the girl had probably calmed down. The weight in her heart was completely lifted, and she couldn't help but smile, secretly overjoyed.

Xu Xi noticed his little scheme and caught a glimpse of his secretly pleased expression out of the corner of her eye. She glared at him resentfully but didn't pull her hand away, letting him hold it.

The two walked side by side toward the movie theater and soon arrived at it.

After their tickets were checked and they entered the theater, Xu Xi discovered that there were no other audience members; the huge screening room was empty except for the two of them.

That jerk, he even booked the whole place, what the hell is he up to?

The two settled down in the middle, and the movie soon began.

Xu Nian chose a comedy film, which had no complicated plot and was full of lighthearted laughs.

Xu Xi, who was usually aloof, gradually smiled, her eyebrows and eyes relaxed, and she occasionally chuckled softly.

Xu Nian couldn't understand the English subtitles or the English dialogue in the show, but she could guess most of it from the visuals and body language. She would laugh along from time to time, but her eyes would always drift towards Xu Xi.

Seeing her smile, seeing her wrinkle her nose, seeing her tilt her head back slightly in amusement, fills my heart with satisfaction.

As the movie ended, the cold barrier between the two seemed to melt away little by little with their laughter, disappearing without a trace.

As soon as the credits started rolling on the screen, Xu Nian felt that his plan to appease his wife had been a complete success, and naturally reached out and put his arm around Xu Xi's shoulder.

But the next second, Xu Xi slapped his arm hard, her smile instantly vanishing, and her tone turning cold: "Didn't you say there was a dog in this movie that could do backflips? I didn't see it."

She knew perfectly well that there was no such thing as a dog that could do backflips; it was just a clumsy excuse by the cunning man in front of her to coax her into opening the door.

But she was determined to make a fuss about it. After all, Xu Nian had caught her angry words from a few days ago and mocked her.

Xu Nian, however, remained completely calm. She grinned and said confidently, "Wait here for me for a moment, I'll go ask the director to change the disc."

After saying that, he mysteriously got up and quickly left the screening room.

Xu Xi watched his retreating figure, chuckled, propped her head up with one hand, gently tapped her knee with her fingers, and looked on with anticipation in her eyes.

She wanted to see what method this man could come up with to cover up his lie.

Before long, a series of hurried footsteps came from behind.

Xu Xi looked back and saw Xu Nian wearing an adorable puppy mask, only revealing her chin and the corner of her mouth. She ran to the screen in a few steps, took a deep breath, put her hands on the ground, and pushed off with her toes, performing a neat backflip.

Then, one, two, three... and so on, making eighteen in a row.

After finishing the last task, he landed steadily, dusted off his hands, raised his head, and barked twice like a dog in Xu Xi's direction: "Woof woof woof."

Xu Xi froze for two and a half seconds, her mind went blank for a moment, and then she couldn't hold back anymore. She covered her mouth and laughed so hard she was shaking.

"How about it? I didn't lie to you, did I?" Xu Nian took off the puppy mask, walked to Xu Xi's side, chuckled, and said.

"You, you..." Xu Xi laughed so hard she couldn't straighten up, and she was too weak to refute his words. "You're really something. Who taught you this trick? Did Long Teng and the others give you the idea?"

"Hey, come on." Xu Nian puffed out her chest, looking smug. "I came up with all of this myself, pretty impressive, right?"

"You stinky man, you're never serious," Xu Xi scolded playfully, pinching his ear, the last bit of resentment in her heart dissipating.

Xu Nian chuckled and pulled her back into his arms, resting his chin on the top of her head: "Are you not angry anymore?"

Xu Xi rolled her eyes at him, snuggled closer to him, and put her feet on his lap. Pointing her little finger at his nose, she raised her snow-white neck and said haughtily, "From now on, during 'that' time, I have to be on top. You're not allowed to move, understand?"

"Okay, whatever you say." Xu Nian readily agreed, but secretly thought to herself: When that time really comes, who will be in charge is anyone's guess.

But he didn't reveal his true intentions. He remained composed, respectfully crouching down and patting his own shoulder: "The show's over. Let's go, my queen."

Seeing that he was so sensible, Xu Xi snorted with satisfaction, nimbly lifted her leg, sat on his shoulder, and held his head with both hands: "I'm hungry, take me to get something to eat."

"Yes, my queen." Xu Nian reached out and firmly grasped her soft little feet, slowly stood up, and walked towards the movie theater exit with a smile.

"Long Teng told me there's a pretty good Chinese restaurant nearby. How about we go try it?"

"Okay, sure."

Not long after the two left the movie theater, two furtive figures emerged from the shadows at the street corner, like two wolves that had been lying in wait for a long time, their eyes fixed on their departing backs.

"Young Master, everything has been investigated." The bodyguard leaned close to Young Master Solon's ear and whispered, "They came out alone, without those Chinese bodyguards."

"Very good." Young Master Zoro gritted his teeth, a ferocious smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, his eyes surging with long-suppressed ferocity. "It's truly a blessing from God, a stroke of luck. I've just been discharged from the hospital and I've already encountered such a good opportunity."

"But young master..." the bodyguard hesitated, "but young master, there's an old Chinese saying, 'A forced melon is not sweet.' Aren't we being too rash in doing this?"

Before he could finish speaking, a heavy punch landed squarely on the back of his head.

"Fool, don't you know there's a second half to that sentence?"

Zoro glared at him with exasperation.

"Forced love is never sweet, but it does quench thirst."

"Those two bastards made me lose face and I ended up in the hospital for over a month. Dealing with people as slippery as rabbits, you can't be gentle; you have to be tough."

"Yes, young master, your insight is brilliant," the bodyguard quickly echoed, covering his head.
