Chapter 102 Dean Kate

Chapter 102 Dean Kate

"fool!"

Mihe's voice suddenly rose, his tone and gaze becoming as sharp as a knife. "How could you be so foolish? To hurt your friends' feelings for such a paltry sum of money. They helped you out of respect for me, and even more so because they knew you. Can that friendship be measured in money? They might help you once, twice, but can they help you forever?"

He took a step forward, looking down at the clan leader who was shorter than him, and every word seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth: "Truly utterly foolish."

This harsh rebuke was like a needle, instantly piercing the calm that Nazha had been trying so hard to maintain.

She suddenly raised her head, her brown eyes blazing with fury, biting her lower lip hard, her teeth trembling.

After several seconds, she seemed to use all her strength to squeeze out the words of rebuttal from her throat.

"Lord Mich is all talk and no action."

Her voice trembled slightly, barely suppressed, "Aren't you the same? You indiscriminately hand out free elixirs everywhere with a smile. Have you ever calculated how much those elixirs cost? With your generosity, you don't even recoup a single penny of the cost."

Her emotions were like a flood that had burst its banks; once it found an outlet, it could no longer be contained.

"And you have no idea how many girls you've deceived with your sweet words that sound like nothing more than honeyed words, and how many unnecessary misunderstandings you've caused. Do you know how many messes I've cleaned up for you?"

"What nonsense are you spouting!"

Mihe was caught off guard by Nazha's unexpected and fierce accusation. For the first time, a look of embarrassment and bewilderment appeared on his handsome face. "What do you mean by kidnapping? Don't say things that can be misunderstood."

This sudden accusation stunned Robin, Violet, and Tifa, who were standing nearby.

Their gazes toward Mihe turned colder in unison.

At the same time, they became wary, wondering if they should keep Fenyu and Mihe at a distance, lest they be led astray.

Fen Yu chuckled inwardly. He knew Mihe's personality all too well; wasn't he just a perfect example of a "central air conditioner"?

Naza's accusations continued, her voice trembling even more violently with emotion, and her eyes reddening.

"I feel so sorry for Fenyu and the others. I'm shameless for even scheming against my friends to save money—"

Her voice trailed off, filled with self-loathing, "But—but if this continues, not only will we never be able to pay off our debts, but they will only keep piling up—"

"what?"

"In debt?"

Before she could finish speaking, Nazha suddenly covered her mouth, her face filled with regret and panic.

But it was too late; the word "debt" clearly reached the ears of everyone present.

Robin, Tifa, and Violet all stared wide-eyed, their surprised gazes darting back and forth between Mih and Naza.

They only knew that because the main god was charitable, the Mihe clan's Azure Pharmacy had always been struggling to make ends meet, but they never expected that they had already reached the point of being heavily in debt.

Fen Yu's gaze swept lightly over Nazha's right arm without leaving a trace.

That was a prosthetic limb.

A silver arm, made of precision metal components, connects to her body from the shoulder joint.

Fen Yu understood.

It seems that the price the Mih Family paid for this prosthetic limb, which is top-notch in both craftsmanship and materials, was far more than just being on the verge of bankruptcy.

The entire pharmacy fell into an awkward, suffocating silence.

Mih was extremely embarrassed. He opened his mouth but couldn't utter a single word. He could only subconsciously avoid everyone's gaze, and an unnatural blush rose on his handsome face.

Naza lowered her head in frustration, wishing she could disappear into a crack in the ground right then and there.

In her moment of excitement, she exposed the most embarrassing and hidden aspects of her clan to outsiders.

Just then, the silence that had been frozen by embarrassment in the pharmacy was violently torn apart by a deafening burst of wild laughter.

"Hahahaha, I've come to bother you—!"

Accompanied by a laugh that struck the eardrums and was full of undisguised malice, the weathered shop door was kicked open.

With a loud bang, the door slammed against the inner wall, causing years of dust to fall from the ceiling.

At the same moment, everyone's attention was drawn to the backlit figure at the doorway.

"!"

"I'm here to collect this month's debts, Mich—"

'

A drawn-out, mocking tone accompanied a tall figure as he strode in.

The newcomer was a handsome man whose hair and beard had been dyed gray, and who looked like he had just entered middle age.

He possessed a handsome face that remained striking even with the passage of time, but the malicious smirk on his face and the arrogant, disdainful look in his eyes completely squandered this natural advantage.

He wore a luxurious robe intricately embroidered with gold and silver threads. Its excessive extravagance gave the strange impression that it was a deliberate inversion of Mich's simple white robe, piled up with money to create a deluxe version.

"Dean—" Mihe's voice was hoarse.

"I waited for ages and you never showed up, so I had to come myself."

Dean Kate opened his arms wide, as if embracing his own territory, and swept his condescending gaze over everyone present. "You should thank me, you poor folks, hahahahahahahaha!"

He waved his hand in disgust in front of his nose and frowned, saying, "This shop is still the same, terribly dusty. Staying here will make me sick. I'll keep it short. Besides, there are several more poor people here than usual today."

His insulting gaze swept mercilessly across the faces of Burning Feather, Robin, Tifa, and Wind Violet.

"How awful, poor people and all that—" Feng Jin muttered under her breath.

The four members of Fenyu, who were accidentally hit by this indiscriminate map attack, looked at each other, their faces showing some displeasure.

Naza's eyes now looked as fierce as if she were looking at an irreconcilable enemy.

Mih, on the other hand, wore an expression of unspeakable humiliation, clenching his fists tightly.

"That's Deankat," Feng Jin explained to her companions in a low voice, "leading Orario's largest healing and medicine-making clan. For Mih, who also sells elixirs, she should be considered his number one business competitor."

As a healer, she has an excellent grasp of the information about the major healing-type clans in the city.
