Chapter 270 Women Must Not Interfere in Politics

Su Wuli rubbed against his chest to find a comfortable spot, then rubbed against him a couple more times before stopping.

My eyelids can't hold on any longer.

Yu Chen frowned slightly as he looked at her.

He picked her up and put her on the bed.

Then I sat down on the edge of the bed and gently brushed the strands of hair that were sticking to her cheeks.

After watching for a while, I stood up, but my sleeve was pulled.

Her hands were small, clutching a small piece of fabric from his sleeve.

His eyes weren't open, but his lips moved slightly, "Where to?"

"Take a bath," he replied softly.

As soon as she finished speaking, her fingers slowly loosened, and the fabric slipped from her fingertips.

Su Wuli turned over, pulled the blanket over her chest, and buried her face in the pillow.

When Yu Chen came out after taking a shower, she was sleeping at the very back of the bed, with the blanket kicked up to her waist.

She rolled up her nightgown to reveal a section of her waist.

He walked over and lay down.

The mattress sank slightly.

The sleeping person seemed to sense something, and stirred, turning over towards him.

With her eyes closed, she reached her hand out from under the covers, touching his chest, and then his arm.

I moved my hand up to his shoulder.

Su Wuli subconsciously moved closer to him, until her face was pressed against his chest.

She crossed her legs over his and nestled in his arms.

Like a young animal that has found its den.

Yu Chen pulled the blanket up from her waist and covered her shoulders.

Then he pulled her closer to his arms.

Su Wuli shrank closer to him, embedding herself completely into his chest.

The large hand tightened slightly around her waist.

Su Wuli's breath came from his chest, as if it were carrying a sweet fragrance.

..............................

When Su Wuli opened her eyes again, it was already daylight outside.

She turned her head to look and saw that the space next to her was empty.

I used to wake up alone, and I didn't feel anything.

But for some reason, now when I wake up and find no one next to me, I feel a sense of emptiness.

After a while, she sat up in bed.

She walked to the bathroom, bent down, filled her cup with water, and splashed it on her face. The coolness made her shiver.

I looked up at my face in the mirror, where water droplets were hanging from my nose.

She was only stunned for a moment before quickly washing up.

After having breakfast, I went to the film set.

She had just finished her makeup and entered the filming area when the director came up to her. His gaze lingered on her face for a moment, then he glanced behind her.

That glance was so natural, as if it were unintentional.

He then scanned the entire filming area but couldn't find anyone.

"That...your bodyguard, didn't he come today?"

Upon hearing this, Su Wuli was stunned. "He has other jobs."

The director's gaze lingered on her face for a moment.

He opened his mouth as if to say something, but then stopped himself.

He opened his mouth several times before finally uttering the words he had been holding back all night.

"With those conditions, are he really not considering acting? We're only finalizing the cast for our new project at the end of the month. He can contact me anytime if he changes his mind."

Seeing that he could only agree, Su Wuli said, "Okay."

Before the director could say anything more, the production assistant called him to check the camera positions.

He had no choice but to go.

As filming nears its end, the crew's shooting schedule is becoming increasingly packed.

Su Wuli's schedule has been packed with announcements day and night for the past few days.

After filming night scenes for four consecutive days, Su Wuli felt that she could hardly distinguish between day and night anymore.

I only get a few hours of sleep each day, and then I have to get up and put on makeup as soon as the alarm goes off.

Back at the hotel, she was so exhausted she barely had the energy to remove her makeup.

It must have been Su Yuan who helped her remove her makeup.

After Su Yuan left, Su Wuli threw herself onto the bed.

I don't know how long I slept, but when I opened my eyes again, I didn't see my own room.

She looked down at herself; she was wearing a cotton long-sleeved nightgown.

He was standing behind a screen.

The screen is made of wood and is carved with a pattern of pine trees and cranes symbolizing longevity.

Voices could be heard coming from outside the screen.

There were more than one voice, and they were all mixed together, so she couldn't hear the content very clearly.

Unable to resist her curiosity, she took half a step toward the screen and peered out through the gap.

Yu Chen was sitting in the main seat, holding a folding book in his hand, listening to the people below him.

Two rows of people sat below, dressed in official robes of various colors.

Some people had their heads down or were sitting upright, while others were flipping through folded books.

One of them stood up and said something, and then another person stood up.

The voice was a little louder than the previous one, as if they were arguing about something.

Su Wuli's gaze swept across the faces of the ministers, and she noticed that some of them were frowning.

The atmosphere was heavy.

Suddenly, someone's gaze drifted toward this side of the screen.

His expression changed slightly.

Those around him noticed and followed his gaze.

There was a moment of silence outside the screen.

It felt like the air was being held down by something, making even breathing extremely shallow.

The ministers exchanged glances, then looked away from the screen, only to find their gazes drifting back towards it.

They had long heard that a woman was hiding in the Regent's residence.

Some say she was a fairy, some say she was a demon, and some say she was completely fictitious.

It's a smoke bomb.

The woman is now standing behind the screen; I'm sure of it.

An elderly, white-haired minister sitting on the left put down his teacup.

The bottom of the cup made a very soft sound as it touched the table.

He turned his head to look at Yu Chen, then glanced at the screen.

His lips moved several times before he finally spoke.

"Your Highness, women are not allowed to interfere in politics."

Several people nearby nodded in agreement, but an undercurrent of disapproval was swirling in the air.

But only one person dared to speak; the others didn't dare to utter a single word.

Yu Chen closed the folded book in his hand and placed it on the table, then looked up at the old minister.

His gaze swept lightly over everyone, finally settling on the screen.

He then said in a deep voice, "Come here."

Su Wuli, standing behind the screen, heard the man's voice and thought she had misheard.

However, seeing Yu Chen's gaze through the screen, she had no choice but to come out.

Walk through those people.

Everyone's eyes followed her.

She walked up to Yu Chen and didn't know what to do for a moment.

"Sit down." Yu Chen raised his chin slightly.

He left a seat on the left, with a cushion on the chair.

Upon hearing this, Su Wuli sat down cautiously.

With her hands on her knees, she glanced awkwardly down at the ground.

Yu Chen picked up the folding book. "Continue."

The old minister opened his mouth briefly and then closed it again, his Adam's apple bobbing, but he ultimately dared not speak again.
