Chapter 262 The Sugar Daddy

The burning palm pressed against the skin on her side, which was soaked by the cool air from the secret passage, making her tremble slightly.

Yu Chen lowered his head, his forehead touching hers.

"Is there a bedroom in the secret room?"

Um?

Su Wuli's mind was blank.

He opened his mouth, but no sound came out.

The secret room contained dark passageways, an altar, and...

Yu Chen suddenly pulled her up in his arms, and she hung on him with her back against the wall.

He carried her out of the entrance hall, and stopped after a few steps.

They pinned her against the wall in the hallway.

Her back hit the wall, and she flinched again.

"Aren't we going back to the bedroom?" She turned her head, her breathing still not calm.

Her lips brushed against his chin.

"There's no bedroom in the secret room." His voice was close to her ear as his hand moved up from her waist.

The nightlight from the hallway peeked through the crack in the bedroom door, casting a small patch of dim yellow light on the floor, swaying gently at their feet.

It felt as if the dark path in the secret room was not yet over, and as if something might suddenly catch up with us at any moment.

Su Wuli's eyes welled up with tears.

It's not crying...

She bit her lip, leaving a crescent-shaped white mark, and the sound she swallowed choked in her throat.

She tried desperately to control the rise and fall of her breathing, but to no avail.

This was never something she could control.

The apartment hallway wasn't long, but it took him an unusually long time to walk from the entrance to the bedroom door.

He would stop at every bend in the road, in front of a closed door, or in a dark, unlit area.

Su Wuli leaned on his shoulder, thinking they had arrived each time, and each time he carried her and continued walking.

Finally, I asked him if he did it on purpose.

He didn't deny it, only saying that the secret passage was longer than this.

When she was placed on the bed, Su Wuli sank into it, her hair scattered on the pillow.

For a brief moment after Yu Chen left her, Su Wuli felt a chill.

He involuntarily shrank back and reached out to grope in the darkness.

Her fingertips touched his wrist and stopped.

Then I heard the sound of a drawer being pulled open...

Those hidden in the bookshelf compartments, on the ropes hanging from the ceiling, the keys behind the ancestral tablets on the altar, and these sounds in the darkness overlapped together.

He leaned over her, his hand resting on her ear, his forehead against hers.

Their breaths mingled together.

Su Wuli smelled the sandalwood scent on his collar, exactly the same as the scent she had smelled in the main hall of the General's Mansion.

It must have gotten there back then, but it's mixed with the feeling I have now.

She was so confused that she couldn't tell which was the secret room and which was her home.

The man's lips were pressed against her eyes, her eyelashes brushing against his lips.

Su Wuli's fingers slid up from the pillow and ran through his hair.

The moonlight filtering through the curtains crawled across the floor, from the foot of the bed to the table leg...

She couldn't tell how much time had passed, only that his heartbeat was always pressed against her chest, the same frequency she felt when he suddenly pulled her into his arms in the secret room.

In the locked room, I followed him half a step behind... the distance was even closer, so close that there was no gap.

She gripped his forearm with her fingers, her nails digging in.

The man's arm muscles were taut, and the veins were slightly bulging.

She didn't let go, and he didn't dodge.

Su Wuli didn't know what she was thinking; it was the darkness of the secret room, and his gentle comforting words...

These images overlapped in his mind, mirroring every breath he took at that moment.

Late at night, she lay on his chest, slowly tracing circles on his collarbone with her fingers.

His fingers entwined a strand of her hair, slowly winding it around, as focused as if he were manipulating wooden blocks on a jigsaw puzzle.

"What are you thinking about?" Su Wuli couldn't help but ask.

Yu Chen didn't stop moving, but simply lowered his eyes slightly to look at her.

"I'm thinking of making the mechanisms in the escape room a bit more complex."

Upon hearing this, Su Wuli was taken aback.

I looked up and searched for his eyes in the darkness, but I couldn't see anything.

All I could feel was a slight vibration in his chest and a man's low chuckle.

Noticing that he was teasing her, Su Wuli raised her hand and punched him.

He held her hand and pressed it against his chest.

My heartbeat came through my palm.

She leaned back and buried her face in the crook of his neck.

"If you're scared next time, don't play."

"This is my job," Su Wuli replied in a deep voice.

"Are you short of money?" His fingers paused on her back.

"Hmm," Su Wuli responded listlessly. "Everyone's short of money."

His fingers continued to draw circles on her back, from her shoulder blades down, as slowly as if he were drawing a meticulous painting.

"I'll bring you gold bars next time."

Upon hearing this, Su Wuli lifted her head from the crook of his neck.

A few rays of light from the window fell on his jawline.

"Are you the sugar daddy?" she asked, then chuckled to herself.

"What is a sugar daddy/sugar baby?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Su Wuli's smile froze.

He opened his mouth, but swallowed the words back down.

Her eyes were slightly lowered; she was now lying naked on his chest.

Just now...

This scene just doesn't feel right.

Su Wuli's face flushed, and she pulled her hand back from him, hiding it under the blanket.

His gaze began to wander; he clearly couldn't see anything in the darkness.

wrong.

Su Wuli was startled; Yu Chen could see it.

Yu Chen moved his fingers away from her back and instead pinched her chin, turning her face towards him.

"What is a sugar daddy?" he asked again.

Su Wuli bit her lip, her eyelashes trembling several times.

He stammered, his fingers clutching the sheets under the covers.

"He's just... someone who gives money."

After saying that, I realized that this explanation was even more wrong.

He pinched her chin and rubbed his hand along her jawline, sending a tingling sensation through her.

"Speak." The words were concise yet carried a sense of pressure.

Su Wuli paused for a moment, and her gaze finally fell on his face.

Suddenly unsure how to respond, she simply hunched her shoulders and gently freed her chin from his grasp.

Then she buried her face in the crook of his neck.

She placed her hand on his chest and mumbled, "I don't know how to explain it, don't ask..."

The voice grew softer and softer, until the last few words were almost inaudible.

Yu Chen really didn't ask any more questions. He picked her up from the bed and took her into the bathroom.

After the water was filled, Su Wuli was carried into the bathtub.

The water reached her chest, and the temperature was just right.

He squeezed out some shower gel, lathered it up, and started washing her from her shoulders.

He traced circles on her skin with his fingers, moving down her collarbone, arms, and waist...

Su Wuli lowered her head, her breathing becoming rapid, and just then she saw his hand.

The man's fingers were long with distinct knuckles, and white foam clung to them.

She wanted to say she could do it herself, but her mouth opened without making a sound.

His large hand had already slid down her back, his fingertips pressing down her spine vertebra by vertebra.

Stop at the waist, draw a circle and then walk up again.

Su Wuli lay on his knees, burying her face in his arms, the steam making her eyelids heavy.

After taking a bath, Yu Chen lifted her out of the water and wrapped her in a dry towel.

Su Wuli stood on the bathroom mat, her toes curled up.

The floor mat is plush and feels very comfortable to walk on.

Yu Chen turned around, took a bath towel, and helped her dry her hair. When it was half dry, he hung the towel on the rack.

She suddenly grabbed his finger.

Su Wuli pointed to the bath towel she was wearing, "I need to get dressed."

If I don't wear it...
