Chapter 128 Review and Warning
Chapter 128 Review and Warning
Tokyo Higher Vocational School.
Before the helicopter rotors had even come to a complete stop, Ieiri Glass was already standing on the edge of the helipad.
She wore a dark gray trench coat over her white lab coat, held an unlit cigarette between her fingers, and her hair flowed backward with the air currents.
She squinted as she watched the helicopter slowly land, and only took two steps forward after the rotor speed had decreased.
The hatch opened, and Huzhang was the first to jump down.
Jiaru glanced at him. His left cheek was swollen, and there were dried, cracked scabs at the corner of his mouth, but he seemed to be in good spirits.
Open your mouth.
Huzhang obediently opened his mouth, and the family member shone a flashlight inside, then pinched his jawbone.
Jiaru waved her hand, ignoring him, her gaze already shifting to the back.
Kugizaki helped Fushiguro out of the hatch.
Fu Hei's complexion was terrible, his lips were pale, and he was dragging his left foot.
Itadori hurried over and, together with Kugizaki, helped him sit on the steps at the edge of the tarmac.
"Where are you injured?"
At this moment, Ieiri Shoko also came to their side.
"There are no external injuries." Fu Hei's voice was very soft. "It's due to the overexertion of his magical power, and also the shadow—its condition is not very stable."
The family member placed their hand on his back, their palms gleaming with a warm light.
She stopped after a few seconds.
"The channel for magical energy is undamaged, but the residual magical energy throughout the body is very low. Go back and sleep for eight hours first, and do not activate any spells."
Fu Hei nodded.
On the first day of the twelfth month, Zhenyi came down last.
Zhenyi's Black Queen was wrapped in a gun holster and slung across her shoulder. Gan Eryue walked up to her house and offered his hand.
The runes on the back of his hand shimmered faintly in the sunlight.
Jia Ru stared at the runes for two seconds, his gaze moving from his wrist to his forearm.
"Are you experiencing any discomfort? Pain, burning sensation?"
"no."
Iori glanced at Mayi again. Mayi shook her head, indicating that she was fine.
"Okay. Go change your clothes first, then we'll meet in the underground conference room in half an hour." Kaori stuffed the unlit cigarette back into his pocket. "Gotcha has already arrived."
The lighting in the underground conference room was rather cold, casting a pale bluish tint on the faces of everyone present.
There were eight people sitting on both sides of the long table.
Yi Gu sat in the seat closest to the door, with a laptop and a stack of printed data charts spread out in front of him.
Gojo Satoru leaned back in the chair opposite him, his sunglasses pushed up above his forehead, revealing his deep blue eyes.
Two strips of medical tape covered several small cracks on the back of his right hand.
Apart from that, no other injuries were visible.
On the first day of December, he sat next to Zhenyi.
Itadori and Kugizaki sat on the other side. Fushiguro Megumi sat in the far corner, leaning back in her chair with her eyes half-closed.
"Let's begin."
2
When Gojo Satoru spoke, his tone was much more subdued than usual.
Yi Gu opened his laptop, and a topographical map of Europe popped up on the screen, with the Alps region marked in red.
"Let's talk about Europe first. The battle between Gojo-sensei and Jikai lasted for about forty minutes." Yigu spoke slowly, each word clearly. "During that time, Ximu intervened from the side twice, but was blocked by Gojo-sensei's unscrupulous techniques."
"It wasn't a complete stop," Gojo Satoru interjected, tapping the tape on the back of his hand. "The second time, he tested the threshold of 'no limits.' And he actually crossed those limits and attacked me. This means he had a chance to work together to keep me here, but they didn't. We need to be careful; could this be part of their new plan?"
Yi Gu nodded and typed a few words on the keyboard.
The screen switches to a graph showing the fluctuations in magical energy.
"This is the energy waveform of the law recorded by the Six Eyes. Around the thirty-second minute, the cocoon on the Okinawa side was killed by the new moon of the twelfth month, and the Earthly Fiend's law output experienced a precipitous drop."
He made a dot on the curve with his pen.
"This is it. A layer of Earthly Demon's primordial aura has been severed. Six Eyes detected the gap in his right shoulder's defense at that moment."
"Then I used Hellfire to pierce his right shoulder," Gojo Satoru continued, his tone flat. "His entire right arm was blown off at the shoulder joint. The magma at the cut solidified within three seconds of leaving the body—once the demon's essence is severed from its main body, the creation becomes an ordinary, lifeless thing."
"This is crucial," Yigu emphasized, his gaze sweeping over everyone present. "Whether it's the severed arm of the Earth Demon, the remains of the Okinawa Cocoon, or the corpse of the hatched creature, all the samples point to the same conclusion: the fundamental law of the demon is the core that sustains the existence of all creation. Cut off the supply, and creation will degenerate into ordinary matter without any special properties."
Huzhang raised his head, chewing on something.
"So—that means if we kill the demons themselves, everything they created will be gone?"
"That's how it is in theory. But the premise is that the connection to the source is completely severed. Although Di Kui has lost an arm, his main body is still alive, and his underground creations are still operating."
Gojo Satoru put the sunglasses back on his nose.
Tell me where he went.
"It's penetrated the Earth's crust." Yigu pulled up another set of data. "Within six hours of the Earth's sinking into the crust, we tracked a faint signal of ley line disturbance through the global earthquake monitoring network. The direction is from the Alps, heading south along the Mediterranean tectonic plate."
"They went to South America."
66
"Yes. He's most likely going to reunite with his clone in South America." Yi Gu's expression became more serious. "According to the intelligence we've gathered, if Di Kui merges with his clone, his overall strength will increase significantly."
There was a two-second silence in the conference room.
"What about Bazaar?" Kugizaki asked.
"The Mariana Trench," Yi Gu said, switching to a deep-sea isobath map. A red dot marked the deepest point of the trench. "After sensing the destruction of the cocoon and the severe injury to the Earth Demon, she immediately contracted her essence, turning the surrounding hundred meters of sea into a dead water zone." "A dead water zone?"
Huzhang tilted his head slightly.
"Simply put, all life in that body of water was stopped," Yigu explained. "There was no water, no sound, no light. Any living thing that entered that area would be killed instantly. She hid herself completely in this way."
Gojo Satoru rested his chin on his hands and remained silent.
"The alliance between demons—" Yi Gu closed his notebook, his voice slowing slightly, "Judging from the current situation, it has completely collapsed. Di Kui is seriously injured and has fled, Ba Sha is hiding in the deep sea, and Xi Mu's whereabouts are unknown. The three demons that have already appeared have completely broken ties, and it is impossible for them to form a coordinated attack again in the short term."
He paused for a moment.
"This is the first time since the start of the war that we have gained a substantial strategic advantage."
No one responded.
It's not that the statement lacks weight, but rather that everyone present understands the cost of this advantage—
Okinawa is half destroyed, several villages in the Alps are submerged by lava, and the number of civilian casualties worldwide attacked by the evil creation is still being tallied.
Gojo Satoru stood up, the chair dragging on the floor with a thud.
"Alright. It's good to know they ran away."
He didn't finish his sentence.
The emergency lights on the ceiling of the conference room suddenly turned on.
The red light flashed intermittently, accompanied by a sharp electronic buzzing sound.
A red pop-up window appeared on Yigu's laptop screen. He put his hands back on the keyboard, glanced at the two lines of text, and then frowned.
"Urgent intelligence has just arrived from the window."
All eyes turned to them.
"Chofu City, near Tokyo. A mental hospital that has been abandoned for three years suddenly experienced an abnormal fluctuation of cursed power twenty minutes ago." Yigu quickly read the text on the screen. "Preliminary assessment is that it is a level one cursed spirit, but the fluctuation pattern is very unstable, similar to some kind of mutation."
"Mutations?"
December 1st's eyes narrowed slightly.
"The analysis by 'Window' suggests that this cursed spirit may have been affected by the faint aura of laws that dissipated during the Battle of Okinawa. Those residual auras spread with the atmospheric circulation, and their concentration had become negligible. However, if a cursed spirit that happened to be at the critical point of evolution happened to absorb them—"
Yi Gu didn't finish his sentence.
Everyone present understood what the following meant.
Gojo Satoru pushed his sunglasses up a bit, a hint of interest flashing in the one eye that was exposed.
"Perfect."
He glanced around at the students present.
"We've been fighting big monsters since the demons appeared, so we can't forget the basics. Take a break and you guys go handle the rest."
Hu Zhang crumpled the energy bar packaging paper in his hand into a ball.
"Go and kill that cursed spirit?"
"Level 1 only." Gojo Satoru held up one finger and shook it. "Itadori, Kugizaki, and Fushiguro—you three are the main attackers."
Then his finger turned toward the new moon of December.
"You go with him. If that mutated cursed spirit has any unexpected abilities, you'll be there to cover for him."
December 1st glanced at Fu Hei. The latter was slowly standing up, supporting himself on a chair. His face was still pale, but there was no sign of him backing down in his eyes.
"The state of being shrouded in darkness"
"I'm fine." Fu Hei spoke first, his voice not loud but steady. "The family said the magic channel is undamaged. A few hours of rest will be enough."
Gojo Satoru smiled.
"You can decide your own departure time, just get there before dark. Yi Gu and I still need to deal with Di Kui and Ba Sha's matters."
After saying that, he turned around and pushed open the conference room door.
The sound of his footsteps receding into the corridor could be heard, followed by a soft humming.
