Chapter 354 “The Protagonist” Jason?
Chapter 354 “The Protagonist” Jason?
Jason?!
Ronan frowned and took out another communication prop shaped like a black bat from the space ring. No message came from it. He tried to contact Jason on the other end, but there was no response.
The black bat that brought the chain rings seemed to struggle in Ronan’s hands.
Ronan gently let go and the black bat flew out quickly.
His eyes flickered, he weighed the pros and cons for a moment, then slowly followed.
The “escaped” black bat was flying quickly and randomly above the waterway, with no direction at all. Ronan followed it for a while, frowned, and was about to turn back along the way, but suddenly the black bat that was locked in his mental power “whoosh” disappeared into the darkness above his head, and Ronan suddenly lost his sense of it.
Ronan was startled and came to the place where the black bat disappeared. He took out a lighting crystal from the space ring, and the light of the crystal illuminated the scene in that area.
The top of the ancient waterway ruins is a thick rock mass, which Ronan had already explored.
And now he saw that the small area where the black bat disappeared seemed to have been simply repaired and was quite smooth. There were some artificially carved lines on it, and there was also a two-finger-wide gap that looked like a damage.
“The bat flew into this gap?”
Ronan extended his mental power and gently swept away the dust near the gap, and suddenly found some blurred words revealed.
“..【Evil】.【Pandemic】.”
Ronan read out the few words carved on the stone slab. The meaning was unclear and the words were written very sloppily, as if someone had carved them casually out of boredom.
Ronan infiltrated his mental power into the gap where the black bat disappeared and extended it a little bit inside. Suddenly, he stopped and blinked.
He actually found a hidden spell node in the deepest part of the gap.
Ronan tries to activate the node.
Soon, a strong spatial energy fluctuation was transmitted, and the entire top stone slab where the gap was located was lit up with white light, quickly forming the pattern of an ancient and complex teleportation array.
A faint silver-white beam of light descended from the magic circle. Ronan’s eyes flickered and he reached out his hand to gently touch the beam of light.
“Shh-“
A brief sense of spatial change.
When Ronan opened his eyes again, he found that he had left the dark and humid waterway. What appeared before him was a high and wide sky. The sun, moon and stars could not be seen. It was neither bright nor dark, giving people a feeling of approaching dusk or dawn.
Under my feet is a grayish-white sand, with some strange vegetation growing in the sand, which is also grayish-white, bare and twisted.
“Come out?”
Ronan casually grabbed a handful of soil from under his feet. No one knew how this grayish-white soil was formed. The surface was dry but the inside was quite moist. It felt slightly sticky in the hand, and if he squeezed it hard, a light pink mucus would ooze out.
“It should still be in the Lost Land.”
Ronan threw away the dust in his hand and guessed in his heart.
This strange gray and white land is filled with a strong ancient and decayed atmosphere similar to the remains of ancient waterways, giving a feeling that it has not seen the light of day for a long time.
He was more inclined to believe that he might have arrived at the second level of the Lost Land.
Ronan took out the communication prop and tried to contact the outside world, but found that the magic signal was extremely weak and it was difficult to establish a stable magic link. The only thing between him and Hathaway was some soul connection brought by the master-servant contract, which could barely determine the other party’s approximate location.
But it came from somewhere above my head.
Ronan now understood why Jason would contact him in this way.
Ronan slowly tightened the chain rings in his hand and found the space array that had just been teleported over. The nodes were damaged, but it could still run a few more times.
After noting the location, Ronan slowly floated upwards and looked around.
Soon, he found the black bat that had led the way among several tangled gray and white twisted plants.
He approached, and the black bat immediately broke free from its upside-down state, flapped its wings and continued to fly in one direction.
The scenery of the gray and white sandy area remained almost unchanged, with only the occasional undulating hills. After following for an unknown period of time, Ronan saw from afar a figure wrapped in a wide black robe walking hurriedly on the sand.
The black bat leading the way leaped towards the figure with a whoosh and disappeared under his black robe. The latter looked up and probably saw Ronan, so he stopped.
“I didn’t expect you to come so quickly. It’s incredible, Damien.”
Ronan moved closer, and the man in black reached out and took off his hood, revealing his iconic bald head. His skin was pale, and there were three knife-like cuts on both sides of his cheeks.
It was Jason, whom I hadn’t seen for a long time.
“I didn’t expect to meet you in the Forsaken Land, Jason.”
Ronan slowly landed on the ground and walked slowly towards Jason.
The latter had been staring at him, and suddenly cursed, “Damn, you’ve also been promoted to level 4, and you still look so much better than me.
I thought you hadn’t made a breakthrough, so I wanted to surprise you.”
Jason muttered, and then noticed Ronan’s answer. He frowned and said, “So this place is called the Lost Land?”
“You don’t even know this, then how did you get in?”
“I kept running and running until I saw a hole on the road and I went in, and then I got in without knowing what was going on…”
Jason shrugged and said innocently, leaving Ronan speechless.
“No more nonsense.”
Jason opened his arms towards Ronan and said with a strange look on his face: “Long time no see Damien, it’s nice to see you again!” Ronan’s eyes flashed slightly, and he hugged Jason gently.
Come to think of it, Jason is indeed one of the few people he can call his friend in the Central Region.
“Okay, now can you tell me why you brought me here?”
After the greetings, Ronan extended his hand to Jason, with his palm open, and the silver chain ring lying quietly in the palm.
“You brought this chain ring with you because you were worried that I wouldn’t come?”
“hey-hey.”
Jason didn’t take the ring. He scratched his bald head and smiled a little embarrassedly. “This damn place can’t use the communication stone. I can only use this method to inform you.”
I knew that with your intelligence, you would guess what I wanted to convey to you.”
“It looks like you’ve found the location of the goblin treasure.”
Ronan’s eyes flickered and he put the chain rings away again.
When he returned the chain rings to Jason, Jason said that once he found the exact location of the treasure of the Silver Eared Goblin, the owner of the chain rings, he would call him to go in and explore together.
This time he took out the chain rings to lure Ronan over, and he didn’t care whether the rings were in his hands or not. It was obvious that he had already grasped the clue about the location of the treasure.
In response to Ronan’s question, Jason smiled mysteriously and did not answer, but said he would talk while walking.
The two of them flew hurriedly in one direction along the gray-white sand dunes.
“..There is indeed some clue.”
Jason squinted his eyes and looked ahead, talking to Ronan as he hurried on the road, “The treasure should be somewhere in this lost land you mentioned. I have a rough idea of the location, but it will take some time to further confirm the exact location.
However, there is another major problem now, which is why I insisted that you come here.”
“You mean the one who’s hunting you?”
Ronan’s eyes flickered and he spoke.
Jason mentioned before that he accidentally stumbled into the Lost Land while escaping, and it was most likely that he was being chased by someone.
“Correct.”
Jason said solemnly, “There is a level five.”
He turned his head to look at Ronan, and found that Ronan’s expression did not change, so he continued: “He kept biting me like a dog.
I plan to use the goblin treasure to get rid of him completely.”
“You want me to help hold him back for a while, buying time for you to find the treasure?”
“What are you thinking? I am that kind of person.”
Jason shook his head, “I only promised you before that we would go into the treasure hunt together.
But in the current situation, it would be too late to go back and inform you, so I thought of asking you to come directly, so that you won’t blame me for breaking my promise in the future.”
Ronan’s heart was slightly touched, and he was silent for a while, then he spoke again: “Who is chasing you?
How did you get involved with a fifth-level wizard?”
“The devil knows.”
Jason shook his head, then gritted his teeth and said, “These guys showed up inexplicably, and my family and friends…all died in their hands!
They have been chasing me since I was level one. The first ones who came were level two. When I became a level two wizard, they sent level three to hunt me down. After I reached level three, it was dawn.
Now that I’ve been promoted to level 4, a level 5 wizard pops up!
The identities of the people they send out each time are different, and I don’t know who is behind them.”
“These guys pushed me into a corner every time, and I almost died several times.
But I still have to thank them.”
Jason ripped open the collar of his robe, revealing several shocking scars on his neck, and sneered, “
If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
They were the ones who forced me to switch from a plant-based wizard to a dark-based wizard.
You may not believe Damien, but a lot of my resources and inheritance were obtained while I was being hunted by them.
Including the chain ring in your hand now.
If I hadn’t been chased by Level 5 this time, I wouldn’t have found the clue to the goblin treasure so quickly.”
Ronan frowned as he heard this.
How come Jason’s life experience is so similar to the “protagonist” in the novel?
A blood feud that fell from the sky, brainless villains who line up to give away heads and experience, and endless adventures along the way
It was as if there was an invisible big hand behind him, pushing Jason forward.
There was something strange about this matter. Ronan did not believe that there was any “protagonist template” in the world. He was more inclined to believe that someone “valued” Jason and was deliberately manipulating what happened.
He wasn’t sure if Jason had noticed this, and he didn’t know how to remind him.
If it is really as he guessed, this should be considered a “good thing” for Jason at the moment? !
