Chapter 160 Chaos Dwarf Appears
Time: June 30.890, M8
In the extremely majestic Imperial Palace of Holy Terra, the Father of the Blood Angels, the most perfect of all Primarchs, the Crown Prince appointed by the Emperor himself, Archangel Sanguinius personally came to the throne room in the core of the Imperial Palace of Terra with a large bundle of parchment.
Magnus, another Primarch of the Brother Empire of Sanguinius, now sits on the Golden Throne. Or rather, he has been on the Golden Throne since he came to Holy Terra.
Although he was completely dependent on the palace, Magnus was still very satisfied with his current life. The library of the Terra Palace, including the most secret and dangerous knowledge, was completely open to him.
Now Magnus swims in the ocean of knowledge every day and does not feel tired at all. Moreover, the fact that the Emperor entrusted him with the important task of maintaining the Astronomican made Magnus feel valued by his father.
He did not need to worry about the endless documents and work of filling mountains and seas in Holy Terra and even the entire human empire. Regent Horus and Warmaster Lion shared the empire’s political and military affairs.
Magnus once thought that he could live like this for a thousand years without any dissatisfaction, until he heard the news of his brother’s death.
Now all of Holy Terra is preparing a memorial ceremony for Perturabo, the Primarch of the Iron Warriors. It will be the most grand funeral in the history of the Imperium.
Perturabo’s body will first be sent to Olympia, the planet he first arrived at as an infant, the first world he conquered, and the home world of the Iron Warriors.
Perturabo’s remains will be kept here for 13 Terran days, after which they will stop at various Imperial worlds along the way, and finally return to Holy Terra with the highest standards. They will eventually be buried in the Imperial Palace, back to the homeland of humanity, the place where he was born.
Although some people think that a large-scale funeral is unnecessary in the current fully mobilized empire, it is entirely possible to keep it simple and hold it again after the dust settles.
But the Emperor himself decreed that Perturabo was a hero of the Empire and the first Primarch to die in battle, and his funeral must be a state funeral of the highest standards in the Empire.
And the Emperor is the principle of the Empire.
In fact, Sanguinius also agreed with the Emperor’s decision. He had already understood the existence and nature of Chaos. In fact, since he took office as the Crown Prince of the Empire, cult activities in the entire Solar Sector had become rampant.
According to Horus’s report, cults in other parts of the Empire were even more rampant. Faced with this unprecedented change, the Four Chaos Gods invested heavily, and spared no expense in infiltrating and corrupting the Human Empire.
In this situation, firm belief is the best weapon to fight against the corruption of Chaos. In order to fight against Chaos, the state religious organization that worshipped the Emperor, which had been suppressed before, was officially incorporated into the official organization and began to expand wildly.
Perturabo will become the most important patron saint of the state religion, attracting the faith of the empire to curb chaos.
After reading the parchment in his hand, Magnus asked Sanguinius:
“So, what do you need from me for our brother’s funeral?”
“We need to use part of the palace this time, so we need to temporarily open up the permissions for this part.”
“Sanguinius, my brother, there is no need for you to consult me on this matter. You are the one in charge of the Solar Star Region. You can discuss anything with Ferrus.”
Sanguinius shook his head.
“No, we should decide on such important matters together.”
“And Magnus, there is something important here that you need to know.”
“According to the latest intelligence reports, the movements of the space dwarves are very strange. Our original estimate of their strength was wrong.” “They suddenly sent a large number of troops to approach Holy Terra. The number is far greater than what we knew before. They call themselves the Wotan Alliance and ignored all warnings. The most important thing is that they have traces of Chaos corruption.”
“Oh, well, a new enemy is really annoying at this time. You can handle it, Sanguinius.”
After saying that, Magnus tried to look at the book at hand again, but Sanguinius pulled him back.
“Magnus, you are the chief think tank of the empire. You can’t just do nothing about it.”
“Well, but Father just told me…”
“Although my father has given you the Golden Throne and the Astronomical Torch, he has not said that you can ignore other things. Your wisdom is necessary for the current empire. You are not allowed to give up.”
“Okay, okay, I surrender. I’ll do my job well.”
Just as the two Primarchs were discussing their work, a huge army in the galaxy was heading towards Holy Terra, the ancestral homeland of mankind.
The ships of this unit are full of science fiction style, but if you look closely you will find that many strange changes have occurred on them.
For example, it might grow eyes and tentacles, or bleed for no reason even though it’s made of metal.
This fleet comes from a human offshoot civilization that calls itself the Wotan Alliance, while the Empire generally calls them space dwarves.
In an unknown era, the ancestors of these space dwarves traveled to the center of the Milky Way in search of treasures. After years of evolution, their body structures became short, strong and sturdy.
There are many different factions within the Wotan Alliance. The one that had previously come into contact with the Human Empire was only one of them. They concealed the existence of their true power and reached a cooperation with the Empire.
The Empire classified them as subhumans, exchanged technology with them, and traded property for their creations.
But the people of the Wotan Alliance have long ceased to regard themselves and the humans of the Empire as the same race. The numerous gifts from humanity’s glorious ancient times have made them think highly of themselves.
They knew something about Chaos, but they never tried to alert the Imperium, and they considered themselves immune to its corruption.
However, they are just highly resistant. When the opportunity to completely change the great game appears before them, the great masters from the subspace begin to increase their stakes regardless of the cost.
At this time, the Wotan Alliance appeared in their field of vision. This was a powerful race with a clear kinship with humans. Although the cost of corrupting them was very high, it was not worth the cost in the past.
But now the Four Gods desperately need chess pieces that can act in the physical universe. Although the Primarchs are the best, if they can’t get them, these dwarf masks can do.
As a result, under the combined corruption of the Four Gods, all members of the Wotan Alliance from top to bottom have fallen into the arms of Chaos, and the few who still remain conscious have been made into sacrifices to Chaos by their own people.
The act of joining Chaos has also brought great benefits to these fallen ones, and now the gifts from the Four Gods are unprecedentedly generous.
Now that the Wotan Alliance has grown in strength, they must follow the oracles of the four gods and head to Holy Terra to destroy the Astronomican.
