The Strange Tales of Tokyo Monk.

Chapter 9 Monster, Don’t Run Away

Chapter 9 Monster, Don’t Run Away
The main hall of Weilian Ancient Temple.

In front of the statue of Vairocana Buddha, Pinggong Qianye had already taken a bath and changed into his robes. With a pious expression, he was beating a wooden fish and chanting scriptures.

Horii Suzune held the phone in both hands, shooting from close up and from far away.

Occasionally, he would gesture to ask Pinggong Qianye to cooperate.

In order to promote Weilian Ancient Temple and increase its popularity, Horii Suzune suggested that Hiramiya Chiya record a video and post it on the Internet to gain attention.

For example, chanting sutras, drawing mandalas, copying scriptures, sweeping the yard, etc.

Hiramiya Chiya didn’t like showing his face, so Horii Suzune promised him that she would only take pictures of the part below the shoulders and would never let him show his face on the Internet.

After a while, Horii Suzune’s eyes were unconsciously attracted by Hiramiya Chiya’s hands performing a one-palm salute and beating a wooden fish.

Hiramiya-san’s fingers were very beautiful, slender and well-proportioned, like a pianist’s hands. They were the most beautiful pair of hands she had ever seen.

She was obviously not into hands, but her eyes were involuntarily attracted to them.

His gaze shifted upwards and fell on Pinggong Qianye’s face as he closed his eyes and recited a sutra.

This face is also very good-looking, better looking than any monk listed in the “Illustrated Guide of Beautiful Monks” collected and published by the “Japanese Beautiful Monk Lovers Association”.

Especially when he was chanting piously, the tiny rays of light from outside the window, through the prayer flags, dotted his face.

There is a hint of divine mercy on the young, handsome and resolute face.

There is a sense of holiness of a completely otherworldly monk.

It makes people want to seduce and lure him into falling for themselves.

Perhaps, defiling holiness is something that many people have fantasized about but dare not do.

After shooting a video, Horii Suzune took two steps back, allowing Hiramiya Chiya to appear completely in the camera of the mobile phone.

“Mr. Hiramiya, please recite the Heart Sutra once, so that more people can understand it.”

Horii Suzune had a serious expression.

“When Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva practiced the profound Prajna Paramita, he saw that the five aggregates were empty and was able to transcend all suffering. Shariputra, form is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from form, form is emptiness…”

“Wait a minute, if you pair it with a string of Buddhist beads, the photo will be even better.”

When Hiramiya Chiye brought a string of bodhi beads, Horii Suzune, who was already ready to take pictures, gave him an OK gesture.

“When Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva practiced the profound Prajna Paramita, he saw that the five aggregates were empty and was able to transcend all suffering. Shariputra, form is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from form, form is emptiness…”

Horii Suzune bent over, holding the phone steadily with both hands, her eyes sometimes staring at Chiya Hiramiya on the screen, and sometimes looking at Chiya Hiramiya in the real world.

Hiramiya Chiye’s full body was captured in the shot, his sturdy and powerful body hidden under the thin robes, with traces of bulging muscles faintly visible.

If the vestments were to be ripped open, exposing the upper body and the hidden arms and abdominal muscles, it would be a visual feast.

Unfortunately, it can’t be torn.

“Mr. Hiramiya, your chanting voice is very pleasant. Why don’t you try singing a Buddhist song? It might be very effective.”

After Hiramiya Chiya finished reciting the Heart Sutra, Horii Suzune narrowed her eyes slightly.

“I’m not good at it.”

Hiramiya Chiya refused.

“Host Liansheng, rock music with Buddhist songs is the current trend. You have to keep up with the times.”

“I’m tone-deaf.”

“You’re lying. Your voice when chanting sutras is so beautiful. You must have a good voice when singing Buddhist songs.”

“Mr. Horii, I’m different from you. I have a good brain but a dog’s voice.”

“…Thank you. I am offended.”

In the end, Horii Suzune still failed to get Hiramiya Chiya to sing a Buddhist song.

When Chiya Hiramiya asked Horii Suzune for the video she shot today, Horii Suzune refused on the grounds that her phone was not configured well, and said that she would bring professional camera equipment to shoot it again next time.

“Hiramiya-san, is the soul-guiding lantern almost ready?”

Horii Suzune put away her phone, put her hands behind her back, leaned forward, and changed the subject with a smile.

“tonight.”

……

At 10 o’clock in the evening, the bright moon in the sky was covered by dark clouds.

Pinggong Qianye carried the green lantern and came to the cemetery behind the temple.

This is the land of death, gloomy and cold, and it is the favorite place of evil spirits.

If you want to transform this green lantern into a soul-guiding lantern, it is best to do it in this kind of dark environment.

If it were in the main hall of Vairocana Buddha, not to mention guiding the soul, even this green lantern would be completely liberated.

Arriving at the open area in the center of the cemetery, Pinggong Qianye placed the green lantern on the ground, along with other items that would be used later, then took out the candle he carried with him and lit it.

Place the burning candle inside the lampshade, and the blue light spreads, perfectly echoing the gloomy scene of the surrounding cemetery.

The candle burned very vigorously, and the blue light became brighter and brighter.

The soul hidden inside the green lantern shone through the lampshade and was reflected on the ground, casting a long and terrifying shadow.

The blue light, with the blue lantern as its center, seemed to really open a door to the underworld.

Pinggong Qianye first took out a mirror, and sent out the soul from the Qingxuandeng, and put it into the mirror. The mirror, which was originally without any light, was faintly covered with a dark mist.

“It’s still early, tell me a story.”

Pinggong Qianye glanced at the starry sky which was still covered by dark clouds.

“Legend has it that a long time ago there was a woman who was very jealous of the black hair of the girl next door, and she had been planning how to torture that girl.

Finally one day, the girl was tortured to death by her and turned into a hairy ghost that possessed a woman.

The woman began to grow beautiful hair and was very happy, but she didn’t know that it was the resentful spirit of the girl she had killed that was haunting her.

The woman’s hair keeps growing longer and longer.

The hair that grows in a day is as long as a river, and no matter how hard you cut it, you can’t keep up with its growth speed.”

After telling the ghost story, Pinggong Qianye blew out the burning candle in the Qingxuandeng.

His goal at the moment is to use ghost stories to attract the real big monster Qingxuande to come.

The candlelight went out, and the surrounding blue light gradually dimmed.

But soon, the candle inside the green lantern suddenly ignited without fire.

The green light once again illuminated the surrounding gloomy cemetery, and the light was much stronger than before.

The gate that seemed to connect to the underworld began to rise continuously and become towering in the area outlined by the light.

There seemed to be a sound of water splashing.

That is the River Styx that surrounds the gate of Hades, also known as the River Lethe.

The gate of the underworld feels more and more solid, with a faint green light that attracts people’s attention involuntarily.

There was a mysterious black shadow in the distance, about the same height as Horii Suzune, whose exact appearance could not be seen clearly. He slowly emerged from the gate of the underworld holding a green lantern.

The big monster Qingxuande?

Pinggong Qianye’s eyes narrowed slightly. In order not to alert the enemy, he waited quietly for the Qinglan Lantern to arrive in the human world through the portal opened by the Qinglan Lantern.

As the green light became brighter and brighter, the green lantern held by the mysterious figure moved automatically without wind, emitting a dazzling green light.

Pinggong Qianye felt that his soul was being pulled by some force and was about to be sucked into the gate to the underworld opened by the Qingxuande in front of him.

He resisted a little, hoping that the great monster Qingxuande would add more power to it.

As the force pulling the soul became stronger, Pinggong Qianye concentrated his mind and calmed his breath, allowing it to guide his soul into the Qingxuande.

The gate to Hades slowly opened.

Seeing that the time was almost right, Pinggong Qianye visualized the Dharmakaya of Vairocana Tathagata in the depths of his soul and fixed himself in the dark void.

It is in the shape of a bodhisattva, with a golden body, wearing a five-Buddha crown on his head, making the Dharma Realm Seal, and sitting on an eight-petal lotus pedestal.

Endless light, endless flames, burning everything in the world.

The mysterious figure holding the green lantern, seeing that the situation was not good, wanted to escape into the gate of the underworld and disappear into the distance.

But the gate of the underworld had been fixed and could not be closed for the time being. Endless light and flames poured into the gate of the underworld, like a big sun shining in the sky, illuminating all the gloom and horror.

The slowly flowing illusory River of Forgotten was also completely evaporated,
Pinggong Qianye shouted at the same time: “Om! Ma! Ni! Ba! Mi! Hum!”

The Six-Syllable Mantra brings forth the light of the universe, illuminating all dharma realms.

The entire gate of the underworld began to burn, and everything in sight was surrounded by flames.

The Dharmakaya of Vairocana Tathagata, under the control of Pinggong Qianye’s thoughts, stretched a giant hand into the gate of the underworld, trying to capture the mysterious figure holding the lantern.

Hold and take back.

Pinggong Qianye held a palm-sized piece of burning green skirt in his hand.

Hem?

Has a big monster like Qingxuande transformed into a human form?

boom!
The green lantern placed on the ground could not withstand the conflict of power just now, and it burst into flames with a bang.

The flames quickly devoured the blue paper pasted on the outside.

Pinggong Qianye waved his hand, and his magic power turned into a strong wind. The green lantern turned, and the flame began to dissipate as soon as it burned the green paper.

The base and frame of the lantern were not damaged.

What a pity, he was still escaped by that big monster.

But what I faced just now should have been just an incarnation of it, right?

How awesome.

The danger level must have at least broken double digits, right?
Since I can’t even capture an incarnation, I really need to continue to practice hard.

Pinggong Qianye sighed softly, feeling deeply inadequate in his abilities.

After thinking for a moment, Pinggong Qianye began to paste a layer of light red lantern paper on the lantern in front of him, which only had the frame and base left.

If you want to transform a green lantern into a soul-guiding lantern, the most important thing is to burn the outer layer of green paper and replace it with new lantern paper with the soul-guiding spell written on it.

After re-pasting the lamp paper, Pinggong Qianye led the soul in the mirror into the lamp.

The lamp lights up without fire, emitting a light red glow.
