The Strange Tales of Tokyo Monk.
Chapter 280 5 Multiplication Method
Chapter 280 The Five Vehicles Common Law
It’s still snowing in Tokyo.
The snowflakes are like heavy rain, falling from the sky to the earth in an endless stream.
Maybe it’s because the weather is too cold.
It was late at night when Chiya Heimiya and Mitsuhide Akechi returned to Weilian Ancient Temple.
After almost no sleep for a day and a night, Akechi Mitsuhide could no longer bear it. As soon as he came back, he quickly took a bath and then fell asleep on the bed.
Pinggong Qianye paid homage to Mahavairocana Tathagata and placed a bright lamp on the altar in front of the Buddha.
His condition is not bad. Although the strength loss this time is a bit serious, he can recover by sleeping for a few more hours.
What worried him was that with the return of the Snow Girl to Tokyo, the heavy snow did not stop and was still as heavy as before.
If this continues, it will take less than two days for traffic in Tokyo to be paralyzed, and the streets and houses will gradually be buried by heavy snow.
After going back to take a bath, Pinggong Qianye returned to the temple again and took out lamp paper, brushes, cinnabar and gold powder from the side hall.
Normally he was reluctant to use pigments like gold powder because they were too expensive.
There was a lot of money in the Weilian Ancient Temple account during this period, so he asked Ruyi to help him prepare a small jar of gold powder, about 200 grams, in case of emergency.
It can be used now.
Gold powder and cinnabar are the most suitable pigments for green lanterns.
Use cinnabar to write words and gold powder to paint Buddhas.
“Can you please stop taking off your clothes…”
When Pinggong Qianye suggested tearing off the remaining two sides of the lamp paper and replacing them with new ones, Qingxuande’s embarrassed and shy voice came out from the Guangming lamp.
The paper of the Guangming lamp is the dress she wears.
She always felt that her clothes were in conflict with Pinggong Qianye, and because of him, her clothes had been burned several times.
“Two sides are new and two sides are old. It won’t look good. You don’t want to wear a patched dress, do you?”
“…”
“Let’s just change them all. Just think of it as buying a new set of clothes.”
“…”
“Don’t worry, you’ll be fine soon.”
“…I can do it myself.”
Qingxuandeng didn’t want Pinggong Qianye to tear off her clothes with her own hands. Even though it was just lantern paper, it still felt weird.
The two pieces of lamp paper that were still remaining on the Guangming lamp flew out of the lamp stand and fell aside under the control of Qingxingdeng.
After doing this, Qing Xingdeng finally realized that tearing off the lantern paper was the same as taking off his clothes in front of Pinggong Qianye.
Isn’t this more shameful?
The wind blew, swaying the lamp flowers, and she felt that unpleasant chilly feeling again.
“Hurry up……”
There was a hint of crying in Qingxuandeng’s voice.
“it is good.”
Pinggong Qianye replied, cut the lantern paper, mixed the paint, picked up the pen and began to concentrate on writing the “Mahaparinirvana Sutra”.
This is a sutra that talks about nirvana and becoming a Buddha. It mainly expounds on the Mahayana Buddhist ideas that the Buddha’s body is eternal and indestructible, nirvana is eternal bliss and the self is pure, all sentient beings have Buddha nature, and that the Ajatashatru, the Arhats, and the Pratyekabuddhas can all become Buddhas.
Pratyekabuddhas are those who are born in a world with Buddhas and who attain enlightenment by observing and contemplating the twelve links of dependent origination. Therefore, they are called Pratyekabuddhas.
The Pratyekabuddhayana, the Vehicle of Life and Hearing, and the Vehicle of Bodhisattvas are collectively called the Three Vehicles of Buddhism.
If we add the general good deeds and good practices of the world, namely the human vehicle and the heavenly vehicle, they are collectively called the “Five Vehicles Common Dharma”, which is the common method to carry sentient beings to the good realms.
Perhaps Qing Xingdeng was born in his Buddhist temple in order to become a Buddha in this life?
After finishing writing the Mahaparinirvana Sutra, Pinggong Qianye had this realization.
The original Qingxuande was a monster that guarded the gate to the underworld.
If she keeps her mind upright and does not allow the gate of the underworld to open and bring disaster to the human world, then this will be a great merit. Although it is not as great as the great aspiration of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, it is also not comparable to that of ordinary Buddhist practitioners.
She had great merits in her previous life, and in this life she returned as a Buddhist woman after recultivating herself… The symbolism is a bit strong.
Pinggong Qianye did not think about this question for too long. Whether he could become a Buddha in this life depended on Qingxingdeng himself.
Moreover, there should be no practitioners in this world who can truly become Buddhas, right?
After finishing writing the Mahaparinirvana Sutra, Pinggong Qianye paused for a long time to ponder on the blank spaces left on each piece of lantern paper.
He originally wanted to paint a Vairocana Buddha on each of the four sides of the lantern paper.
But at the Sakurajima volcano, Qingxuande had personally visualized the Dharmakaya of Vairocana Tathagata. Although it was far inferior to his own, it was still considered to be extremely powerful.
It is better to paint the four Buddhas in the four directions.
Qingxingdeng himself sits in the center and can be regarded as Vairocana Tathagata.
The four pieces of paper lanterns outside represent the Immovable Tathagata in the East, Amitabha in the West, Ratnasambhava in the South, and Amoghasiddhi Buddha in the North.
The five Buddhas are interconnected and complement each other, which is far more meaningful than painting four Vairocana Buddhas separately.
It took about three hours before Pinggong Chiye put down the pen, stood up, and slowly admired his masterpiece.
It’s OK, but a bit monotonous.
How about adding some more lotus?
For the lotus, use white paint for the lotus petals, gold for the lotus seeds, and add some pink embellishments.
Pinggong Qianye mixed the paint again and added lotus flowers in some places, making the lantern paper on all sides no longer so simple and adding a bit of vitality.
“Ok?”
When Pinggong Qianye put down his pen again, Qing Xingdeng asked timidly.
She was a little worried that the skirt that Pinggong Qianye had drawn on her was too ugly and she couldn’t wear it out to meet people…
“not bad.”
Pinggong Qianye put away his pens, paints and other items, and looked at the sky outside which was already beginning to brighten.
“By using the sun as fuel and melting them into one, we will be done.”
“Can the sun break through the clouds in this weather?”
Qing Xingdeng was curious. It was a windy and snowy season outside, and the sun was blocked by the clouds and couldn’t come out.
“There is a bright sun in front of you.”
Pinggong Qianye withdrew his gaze and looked towards the Vairocana Tathagata in the center of the hall.
Qing Xingdeng wanted to say something when she saw the Vairocana Buddha in front of her, like an incomparably dazzling sun emitting endless light, rising from her spiritual world.
The feeling of light and warmth made her drowsy instantly.
“Please take good care of Sister Snow Girl for me…”
Qing Xingdeng barely managed to throw the Snow Maiden ice sculpture jade pendant out of the bright lamp, and then fell into a deep sleep.
Every new life needs time to sleep before miracles can be brewed.
Pinggong Qianye caught the jade pendant, looked at the heavy snow outside, and sighed slightly.
There are still many things to deal with, but they can only be postponed for now.
The most urgent thing now is to get some sleep first, and then think about how to solve the problem of the Snow Girl and this snow disaster.
Pinggong Qianye put the bright lamp back to its original position, then left the hall and returned to his home.
He took a shower first, then returned to his room, charged his cell phone, took off his coat, got on the bed, hugged his Doraemon pillow, and fell asleep in a short while.
