“Brother, you’ve come from a great background! You’re able to serve as the little monk’s assistant!” Sun Wukong came up to Lin En and said with a grin.

Lin En glanced at him. Among the five people who went on the journey to the West, although Sanzang was a mortal, he was the master and had the highest status among the five. His position was “deputy master”.

So the two of them are considered the leadership, while Sun Wukong, Zhu Wuneng and Sha Wujing are the disciples who have to accept their leadership.

The quest for scriptures was a big project, and when it was completed, all five of them would gain a lot of benefits. However, as the leaders, he and Sanzang would definitely gain the most benefits.

Sun Wukong, as a disciple of Amitabha, one of the four Buddhas, was obviously dissatisfied with this.

Thinking of this, Lin En also smiled: “Don’t worry! You are the eldest disciple, and all the monsters along the way will be dealt with by the two of us. The three of them are just hangings. Our KPI will not be low. At least we can get the same treatment as the little monk!”

However, the Heavenly Court was trying to balance the Buddhist sects and the Taoist sects. But what Sun Wukong said was indeed true. The shortfalls in the Dragon Palace, the Underworld, the Peach Garden, the Alchemy Room, the heavenly soldiers and generals… the gods in those places put all the bad debts of many years on him. He was also loyal enough that even after being in prison for five hundred years, he never revealed the names of any gods.

Soon, they encountered the first difficulty in their journey to the West. The cassock bestowed by Tathagata on Chen Xuanzang was stolen by a black bear demon.

Chen Xuanzang looked helplessly at Lin En and his three disciples.

It is worth mentioning that because Lin En joined the team, Guanyin did not give the tight hoop to Chen Xuanzang, but embezzled it herself.

This also made Lin En sigh at the rampant corruption in the Western Paradise. In fact, Tathagata gave Guanyin three hoops, namely the golden, tight and forbidden hoops, and three corresponding mantras. These things were prepared for Chen Xuanzang’s three disciples.

In the original movie, Guanyin gave Chen Xuanzang the tight hoop and asked him to use it to control Sun Wukong, and then used Sun Wukong to control Zhu Wuneng and Sha Wujing, and she greedily took the remaining two hoops.

After a fierce battle, Lin En and Sun Wukong joined forces to subdue the black bear demon!

But he shook his head and said directly: “This black bear demon can call out the minor official I served in the Heavenly Palace five hundred years ago. He should not be a wild demon without any origin. We cannot kill him, lest he offend his master behind him!”

Sun Wukong then let go of his hand and said with a grin, “Bodhisattva, you can see clearly that this black bear demon is devoted to Buddhism and should be the guardian of the mountain for you!”

Lin En shook his head in his heart. It seemed that the black bear demon was just a temporary monster raised by Guanyin, and now he was made a regular employee during the opportunity of obtaining the scriptures.

After watching Guanyin and the black bear demon leave, Lin En and Sun Wukong took the cassock and returned it to Chen Xuanzang.

Then, the five continued their journey westward.

During this journey, Lin En also saw what it meant that “the world of martial arts is not about fighting and killing, but about the ways of the world”!
Along the way, whenever they encountered monsters and demons, Sun Wukong would step forward and introduce himself first.

“I am the Great Sage Equaling Heaven, Sun Wukong, who caused havoc in the Heavenly Palace five hundred years ago!”

If the monster replied: “Haha… I was wondering who it was, it turned out to be Bimawen!”

That’s it, there’s a monster with a backstage, just call his master to take him away.

If the monster knows nothing, then there is nothing to say. Lin En and Sun Wukong will just attack and kill it with their swords.

Lin En finally understood how worthwhile it was for Sun Wukong to spend five hundred years in prison.

The mounts, disciples, and boys of various immortals came down to earth as demons. As long as he showed up, the Dragon Kings of the Four Seas, the Kings of Hell in the Ten Palaces, the Twenty-Eight Constellations, the Thirty-Six Celestial Beings, the marshals of heaven, and all the great gods could be called upon. For his sake, even if those immortals were unwilling, they had to obediently take their mounts and disciples with them and go back to where they came from.

According to Sun Wukong, “I have the evidence to settle the accounts with them. If you make me unhappy, let’s go to the Jade Emperor and have a say…”

Letting Sun Wukong cause havoc in the Heavenly Palace and settle the accounts was also a conspiracy of the Buddhist sect. With Sun Wukong holding the evidence, the gods were naturally not putting in enough effort to obstruct the journey to obtain the scriptures.

The Three Pure Ones had no way to deal with this matter. After all, they couldn’t possibly end it themselves!
Lin En would certainly not be at a loss either. Those monsters with origins could not be killed, but those wild monsters that harmed people would of course be killed and turned into his origin points.

He looked at the realm column on the panel: Celestial (986/1000). He had killed so many monsters along the way that he couldn’t even count them, for example, when he passed by Lion Camel Ridge. The lion spirit and the elephant spirit were the mounts of Samantabhadra and Manjusri respectively, and Dapeng was the younger brother of the Peacock King, so of course he couldn’t be killed.

But Lin En would not let go of the demon soldiers and generals under their command and would kill them all.

“Only 15 more origin points to upgrade!” Lin En nodded with satisfaction.

At this time, they were not too far from the Lingshan Mountain in the West. However, the closer they were to the Lingshan Mountain, the more monsters there were. Before receiving the merit from heaven, Lin En still had the confidence to improve his cultivation to the level of a true immortal.

In this way, when the merits from obtaining the scriptures are bestowed upon him, perhaps he will be able to achieve the Golden Immortal in one fell swoop!

“Disciple, are we very close to the West?” Chen Xuanzang had a blank expression on his face. Ever since he saw Miss Duan die in front of him, he felt disheartened. The only thing holding him back was to obtain the Buddhist scriptures.

“Master, don’t worry, there are still some days…” As Sun Wukong said this, he saw a bright light shining in front of him, and he had arrived at a sacred mountain and a precious temple.

Chen Xuanzang smiled when he saw this scene: “You monkey, you still want to deceive me, aren’t we in the west heaven?”

Lin En and Sun Wukong looked at each other and immediately felt something was wrong.

According to the map, it would take them some time to reach Lingshan. How come a Lingshan suddenly appeared here?

However, the two of them did not show any fear, as Lin En had already guessed the identity of the visitor.

If he guessed correctly, the Little Western Paradise and Little Leiyin Temple should be in front!

On the journey to obtain the scriptures, most of the disasters were caused by Taoist gods, but if the Great Sage Ping Zhang stepped in, if they couldn’t defeat them, they could go find the real culprit to solve the problem.

But there are also some disasters, and even the identity of the Great Sage of Balance is of no use.

Lion Camel Ridge is one of them.

The mounts of the two Bodhisattvas, Samantabhadra and Manjusri, tricked Dapeng into going down to the mortal world to cause chaos because Tathagata gave the project of obtaining the scriptures to Guanyin. Once the project was successful, Guanyin’s status would surpass theirs, which also made them jealous.

Therefore, they ordered their mounts to go down to the human world to embarrass the team that was seeking the scriptures.

The three demons, the lion, the elephant and the roc, were no less powerful than Lin En and Sun Wukong. They once caused great trouble to the pilgrim team. In the end, it was Guanyin who stepped in, hosted a banquet and invited Samantabhadra and Manjusri to mediate. She gave them enough face and promised them future benefits. The two pretended not to know and took their mounts back home.

This Little Western Paradise is even more exaggerated, because the one causing chaos here is Maitreya Buddha’s disciple ‘Huang Mei’!
There are three Buddhas of the past, present and future horizontally and three Buddhas of the past, present and future vertically at Lingshan!
The three Buddhas of the past, present and future are Medicine Buddha, Sakyamuni Buddha (Tathagata) and Amitabha Buddha! They are in charge of the three holy places of Buddhism, the Eastern Lapis Lazuli Light World, the Central Saha World and the Western Paradise.

The most important of these is the central Saha world ruled by Tathagata. At the same time, he is also the de facto leader of Buddhism and the person in charge of the highest authority.

But in order to restrain him, the bigwigs of Buddhism came up with the concept of the Three Buddhas.

That is: the Dipamkara Buddha of the past, the Tathagata Buddha of the present, and the Maitreya Buddha of the future!

In other words, Maitreya Buddha is destined to be the future ruler of Buddhism!
Apart from the empty Amitabha Buddha, his ranking among the Buddhas in the Western Paradise is second only to the three Buddhas.

Even before taking over, he can’t wait to start making trouble.

The future ruler of Buddhism is causing trouble here, and there is no way to hide, so we can only go and see what he wants to do. The conflict and game between him and Tathagata must be resolved by themselves.

Anyway, all this has nothing to do with him. Once he becomes a true immortal and gains merit and faith from his journey to the West, it should be enough to summon the world’s capstan to descend.

By then, the entire Journey to the West world will become one of the myriad worlds in his universe.

The group of five entered the Little Leiyin Temple and immediately saw the temple full of Bodhisattvas, Arhats, Heavenly Kings, and the “Tathagata” sitting cross-legged at the highest point.

Chen Xuanzang was outside the temple, ignoring Sun Wukong’s dissuasion. But after entering the temple, he was not in a hurry to worship Buddha. Instead, he looked around carefully. Although he was a mortal, he was not a fool and he could see that something was wrong with the temple.

At this time, the Tathagata above spoke: “Sanzang, you came from the East to pay homage to the Buddha, why are you so indifferent?”

Hearing this, Chen Xuanzang, Zhu Wuneng, and Sha Wujing did not dare to neglect it, and kowtowed to the Bodhisattvas and Arhats one by one. Lin En stood outside the temple and watched coldly. Sun Wukong looked left and right, but laughed, took out the golden hoop, suddenly soared into the sky, and rushed towards the Tathagata at the top.

But a pair of golden cymbals flew out from the hand of the person who came, directly covering Sun Wukong and trapping him in an instant.

Then, he stopped pretending and revealed the appearance of a yellow-browed boy. The little demons in the temple naturally showed their true forms as well, which scared Chen Xuanzang and his two disciples.

“Hahaha…” The Yellow Eyebrow Monster laughed. “My fellow men, take the three of them to the back hall and keep them under guard. After three days and nights, wait for this monkey to turn into pus, then steam the three of them. I will go to the West to obtain the scriptures, and achieve enlightenment. By that time, we will become immortals and Buddhas!”

When saying this, Huang Mei’s eyes were intentionally or unintentionally looking at Lin En who was standing outside the door, with a look of deep meaning in it.

Lin En shook his head and had no intention of rushing in to save people. Instead, he directly left Xiao Leiyin Temple and flew away in a random direction.

Not long after he flew out, he saw a monk with a big belly sitting on the mountain, waving at him with a smile.

Lin En landed and smiled: “Meet the future Buddha!”

Maitreya Buddha nodded slightly: “Sit!”

Lin En sat down as he was told. Maitreya Buddha has the highest level of cultivation of a true immortal. When he takes over as the leader of Buddhism, he will be able to use this status to become a golden immortal. He can be said to be one of the truly great figures in the world.

Maitreya Buddha glanced at the Xuanyuan Sword on Lin En’s back and smiled, “Before I became a Buddha, I also preached to the human race and discussed the Dao with Shennong. Speaking of which, I haven’t seen him for a long time since he moved into the Fire Cloud Cave!”

Lin En really wanted to say that he was not familiar with the Three Emperors, but he guessed that the other party would not believe him even if he said it, so he simply kept silent.

“This journey to obtain the true scriptures!” Maitreya Buddha smiled and continued, “According to the plan, Xuanzang, Wukong and you three are all going to become Buddhas. There is a place for you in Lingshan. Do you have any ideas?”

Lin En followed his words and asked, “Future Buddha, is there anything you can teach me?”

Hearing that Lin En did not answer his question, but asked him instead, Maitreya Buddha’s smile became even stronger: “The only thing I can teach you is the word ‘future’!” (End of this chapter)
