Honghuang: Senior Brother of the Chan Sect, I am Guangchengzi
Chapter 364 The Journey to the West Begins Here
Chapter 364 The Journey to the West Begins Here
As the incarnation of Pangu’s primordial spirit, Yuanshi Tianzun has the power to destroy the world by waving the Pangu Banner. Even recreating a new wilderness is not a difficult task for Yuanshi Tianzun.
Just because ordinary people or even enlightened people cannot do something doesn’t mean he cannot do it.
At that time, Yuanshi Tianzun had already grasped the Pangu Banner in his hand. He had also long since mobilized the Pangu Avenue and communicated with Pangu before the creation of the world. He was always ready to recreate the miracle of the ancient times.
But in the end, Yuanshi Tianzun gave up this decision.
The reason is simple, it’s just that Guangchengzi once said that we should change rather than destroy. Things that have not been completed in this life will be added to the next life, but there are also things to do in the next life.
This life plus the next life, the next life plus the next life, how many lives and generations will it take to make up for these causes and effects?
Yuanshi Tianzun finally gave up killing, gave up destroying the world, and even gave up creating a new world.
But this does not mean that Yuanshi Tianzun has forgotten the past. Looking at Sun Wukong, who had made friends with six demon kings and counterattacked the Heavenly Palace, Yuanshi Tianzun just glanced at him indifferently and then began to look into the distance again.
“Soon… soon…”
Yuanshi Tianzun murmured that his disciples would be back soon and now was just the dawn of victory.
When Sun Wukong stole the elixir and discovered that his secret was exposed, the Heavenly Court immediately dispatched 100,000 heavenly soldiers and generals to attack. Facing these immortal armies, Sun Wukong was not afraid at all and killed them seven times. In the end, he even stepped into the immortal path bathed in blood and achieved a fruit of killing.
But the power of Heaven is not something that Sun Wukong can easily block. Even if he deliberately lets it go, Sun Wukong is still defeated.
In a fit of rage, Sun Wukong teamed up with several of his brothers to break into the Heavenly Palace, determined to pull the Jade Emperor off the throne. As the saying goes, the emperor sits on the throne every year, but this year it’s my turn!
It’s a pity that Sun Wukong didn’t even get to the Lingxiao Palace, and was directly suppressed under the Five Elements Mountain by Duobao Tathagata of the Western Sect.
After five hundred years of wind and sun, Sun Wukong finally waited for his master, Tang Monk Jin Chanzi.
“What a horrible weather! It’s so hot and you’re still going to seek the scriptures. What kind of scriptures are you seeking? You might as well just go home!”
“Thinking back to when I was a big shot in Xuanzhen Temple, I ate and slept well, and there were people fanning me and holding stoves to keep me warm every day.”
“I am just a little monk. I never go out of the front door or the back door. I eat vegetarian food every day. How can I have so much energy to walk around?”
“In the end, I have to walk down there. Why didn’t Li Shimin give me two more servants to carry me there?”
“Pooh, the prosperous Tang Dynasty! At the end of the prosperous Tang Dynasty, people had to go to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures. The scriptures they obtained in this way can become classics!”
At the foot of the Five Elements Mountain, Sun Wukong, who was eating copper pills and drinking copper juice, heard bursts of abuse in his ears. The words were complaining about his own misfortune. There was really no one in the world as pitiful as him.
Even though monkeys are talkative people, after hearing such endless chatter, Sun Wukong felt his head swelling and he doubted whether this was his future master.
But the compassionate Guanyin Bodhisattva would not lie, so Sun Wukong could only accept the result.
Seeing a pair of golden and jade shoes passing by, Sun Wukong shouted: “Master! Master! Your disciple is here, Master!”
“What the hell is that?”
The visitor was obviously frightened by Sun Wukong, and the pair of golden and jade shoes jumped back several steps. His body was extremely agile, as fast as lightning and as light as a flying crane. He did not look like a vegetarian as he said, but rather like a martial arts master.
Tang Seng looked down and found a monkey with stone-colored fur all over its body. It was lowering its head and its eyes could not be seen. At first glance, it really looked like an ordinary stone. No wonder he hadn’t seen it before.
At this time, Sun Wukong tried hard to raise his head. Thanks to the fact that he had been rubbing his neck against the stone for many years, he finally rubbed off a gap and was able to lift his head up.
At this time, he also saw the complete appearance of Tang Monk. Unlike the ordinary monks in his impression who wore plain clothes and held wooden staffs, this Tang Monk was actually wearing gold and silver, and the Zen staff in his hand was also a gold-painted object.
Although it is also made of wood, this Zen staff has a light purple-gold color and exudes a scent of sandalwood. This is not acquired through artificial inhalation, but is emitted naturally. It is obviously a hundred times more precious than gold of the same weight.
Why does this Tang Seng look different from other monks?
Sun Wukong was a little dumbfounded. After all, he had seen monks and Taoists before, but without exception, these people lived a simple life, and there were even some ascetic monks.
But this was the first time that Sun Wukong had seen such a luxurious and extravagant monk.
But while being dumbfounded, Sun Wukong also hurriedly called out: “Master, Master, I am the disciple Sun Wukong that the Bodhisattva mentioned. Didn’t Guanyin Bodhisattva tell you?”
Seeing that the monkey actually called him Master, Tang Seng couldn’t help laughing and said, “You are such a strange monkey, calling me Master all the time. This is the first time we meet, don’t try to offend me.
And I have never heard of Guanyin Bodhisattva giving me any hints, not even a dream. Besides, I am a human, how could I possibly take a monkey like you as my apprentice? Don’t be ridiculous.”
Seeing that Tang Seng didn’t even believe this, Sun Wukong couldn’t help but get a little angry, and shouted quickly: “You mortal, I asked you to help because I think highly of you, but if you keep talking nonsense here, I will bite you to death!”
“Oh, you little monkey are quite powerful. You even said you would bite me to death. Come here, my head is right here. I’ll let you bite it. See if you dare to bite it!”
Tang Seng also got angry and immediately picked up a stone nearby and smashed it directly on Sun Wukong’s head.
The stone passed by as fast as a meteor. There was only a click. The moment the two came into contact, the stone, which was the size of a human head, shattered into powder and turned into flying dust all over the sky.
Sun Wukong was born in a stone womb, and even obtained the immortal fruit. The ordinary 49 heavenly tribulations could not do anything to him, so how could he be afraid of these stones hitting his head?
But Sun Wukong was trapped here and could not use any magic power at all, which was equivalent to a piece of extremely hard fairy gold.
Tang Seng threw the stone with great force and actually smashed it into powder. With such strength, he was no longer an ordinary monk.
Seeing that Sun Wukong was so strong, Tang Seng was really curious. If he was just joking before, now he really wanted to be serious.
Sun Wukong was hit on the head with a stone by a mortal, and for a moment he was ashamed and angry, and immediately bared his teeth and made a squeaking sound, wishing he could bite the monk to pieces. But Tang Seng didn’t care, instead he smiled and came forward, suddenly stretched out his foot and kicked Sun Wukong’s head.
Sun Wukong’s head didn’t move at all, but Tang Seng was almost knocked back several feet. This time he really believed that Sun Wukong was born extraordinary, but this made him feel even more amused.
“Come on, come on, you little monkey. All you keep talking about is master and disciple. Do you think I don’t read the storybooks?”
“It’s said in those dramas that monsters like you, being pressed here by the Bodhisattva and Buddha, are just waiting to die.”
“You must have made a very serious mistake in your previous life. Otherwise, the Bodhisattva and Buddha, who are compassionate by nature, would not have suppressed you like this.”
“You must be a monster who doesn’t want to die, so you use evil words to deceive me, wanting me to let you out, and then you can eat me up, right!”
“Humph, Master Buddha, I read Buddhist scriptures every day. I remember all the names of Amitabha, Sakyamuni, and Tathagata Buddha clearly.”
“Just wait here and die. When you turn into ashes or die of old age, I may be able to give you a stick of incense for the sake of our friendship today, so that you can die peacefully.”
“My goodness, Long Dingdong, that Li Shimin is such a piece of shit that he actually let me, the Buddha, take this path, and ended up meeting a little devil like you. Did I have a conflict with the Li family in my previous life? No, that’s not right. I go to worship Taishang Laojun every day. Could it be that Laojun doesn’t bless me?”
Tang Seng sat down on a rock above Sun Wukong’s head, crossed his legs, and cracked some sunflower seeds that were fried with five-spice flavor. From time to time, he opened his mouth and spat out a handful of melon rinds, directly on Sun Wukong’s head.
His mouth was still chattering while he was cracking melon seeds, sometimes saying he was thirsty, or tired, and then he got a bunch of red cherries from somewhere and spit out several fruit pits in succession, which made Sun Wukong in a bad mood.
Tang Seng’s dense words were just like millions of bees and tens of millions of mosquitoes buzzing in his ears. It wouldn’t be annoying to death, but it could annoy people to death.
“do not talk!”
Seeing that Tang Seng had no intention of stopping talking, Sun Wukong could no longer hold back and shouted, “Since you don’t want to save me, then why don’t you get out of here!
If you want to go and get the scriptures, go and get them. If you want to die, go and die. Anyway, don’t make noises in front of me, Sun. If I see you again, I will kill you even if the sky is struck by five thunderbolts!”
Seeing Sun Wukong grinning like that, Tang Seng immediately covered his chest and acted like he was very scared.
“Oh my, I’m so scared, I’m so scared, please don’t kill me, great god.” Tang Seng said sarcastically, “But I’ve never seen a great god being pressed under a rock. You are so powerful, why don’t you jump out and kick my head?”
“Those famous great saints are all capable of carrying mountains and seas. For example, Great Saint Guangcheng is the disciple of Yuanshi Tianzun. It is said that he once carried the entire starry sky to Primal Chaos, and then returned without a scratch.”
“Compared to this great sage, you, the Great Sage Equaling Heaven, are so weak that you can’t even do Thirteen. What’s the use of you?”
“Don’t call yourself the Great Sage Equaling Heaven anymore. Call yourself the Little Demon of the Insects. You are as tall as the sky, but you can only be a brother to insects.”
Tang Seng cursed out another series of endless words, which made Sun Wukong scream with his head raised, but he looked over with a look of despair, which was really annoying!
Seeing that Tang Monk was so talkative after his reincarnation, the three Bodhisattvas in heaven, Avalokitesvara, Samantabhadra and Manjushri, looked at each other, completely at a loss as to what to say.
Whether it is Tang Seng or Jin Chanzi, they are actually a personification of Guangchengzi, which is equivalent to his other side.
They really didn’t expect that the senior brother who used to be humorous, serious, dignified and self-respecting would actually have such a personality.
Manjusri Bodhisattva couldn’t help but laugh and said, “I must preserve this period of time, and add Master’s mark to ensure that this period of time is true. When Senior Brother comes back, I will show it to him!”
Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva also found it difficult to stop smiling. The amiable elder brother from the past now seemed to have gained some more humanity and was no longer as elusive as before.
However, it was not a good idea to let Tang Seng continue to curse like this, so Guanyin Bodhisattva finally stood up and appeared immediately.
When Tang Seng saw that Guanyin Bodhisattva actually stood up for the monkey, he was surprised and widened his eyes. He put his hands together and said, “Namo Guanyin Bodhisattva.”
A faint and pure Buddha light lingered around Guanyin Bodhisattva. He was now in a state of solemnity and looked nothing like the one he had before when he was chatting casually.
“Tang Monk, you will certainly encounter numerous hardships and dangers on your journey to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures. So, to ensure your safety, you should unseal this stone monkey and let him practice with you. You can also use Buddhism to resolve his resentment.”
Guanyin Bodhisattva smiled and said: “In this way, we can not only obtain the scriptures, but also persuade a wicked person to turn to good, isn’t it killing two birds with one stone?”
Seeing that he was going to unseal the monkey, Tang Seng was obviously very reluctant and said hesitantly: “This… Guanyin Bodhisattva, this monkey is obviously very angry. Why not suppress him for another 1,800 years? When that time comes, I will definitely come to save him.”
When Sun Wukong saw the appearance of Guanyin Bodhisattva, he was happy at first, thinking that a great god who could cure this villain had finally appeared.
He never thought that Guanyin Bodhisattva would want him to practice with him, and he couldn’t help but feel despair. Just spending half an hour together was enough to make Sun Wukong feel painful, and he even wanted to kill the monk.
If I were to go with him to obtain the scriptures, how many half hours would I have to endure along the way?
However, when he heard that Tang Seng didn’t want him and even suggested that Guanyin Bodhisattva seal him for another thousand or eight hundred years, Sun Wukong became unhappy.
I’ve always been the only one who looked down on you, and now you look down on me too. How great do you think you are?
“Buddha, have mercy on me. I am willing to practice with this lowly…master!”
Sun Wukong raised his head and shouted, and his words were very sincere. It was just unclear whether he sincerely wanted to practice with the monk or sincerely wanted to kill him.
Guanyin Bodhisattva naturally knew everything, but he pretended not to know and said with a smile: “Not bad, not bad, Wukong, it’s good that you can understand all this. You must know that kindness will be rewarded, Tang Seng, what do you think?”
Guanyin Bodhisattva said so, Tang Seng could only accept his fate, but he still said: “Bodhisattva, I still have a doubt, that is, what should I do if this monkey wants to kill me? I can’t kill him.”
