The original MV of “Old Boy” tells the story of middle school students Xiao Dabao and Wang Xiaoshuai who have a common distress, that is, being rejected by the school beauty they both liked. Later, they became good friends because of their love for Michael Jackson.

Many years later, they embarked on different paths in life. One became a fawning wedding host, and the other became a barber who swallowed his anger and spent his days in vain. The news of Jackson’s death shocked Xiao Dabao, so he found Wang Xiaoshuai to form “Chopstick Brothers” and participated in the “Happy Boys” talent show together with a group of post-90s.

However, the audition process was not smooth and they did not get any ranking in the end. But the images and songs of their competition aroused the remaining dreams in the hearts of countless middle-aged people.

But now that Jackson is still alive and well, this story cannot be used.

So Shen Lang gave the screenwriter department the theme of the original MV “To Our Youth That Will Soon Pass Away” and asked them to write a brand new story.

Equally touching and tear-jerking, it allows those born in the 60s, 70s and 80s to find their own shadows, their own memories of time and youth among the light and shadow.

“Did you write it?” Wang Lihong read the script and immediately a series of scenes emerged in her mind, just like watching a movie. She also knew that Shen Lang had participated in the creation of film and television scripts before, so she thought it was written by him.

“Since the beginning of this year, I have been on the road or on the way to travel. How could I have the time? This was written by the company’s screenwriter.” Shen Lang shook his head slightly. He wanted to write because he felt that writing scripts was as interesting as writing songs, but he was too busy to do so.

“It’s really well written, and it fits the theme of the song very well, making people feel empathy and resonance both visually and aurally.” Wang Lihong praised it generously. Most of his song MVs are about a person playing the piano or guitar in front of the camera, or a man and a woman falling in love, breaking up and getting back together. There are not only one reason for the success of this song. First, Jay Chou returned to the world of traditional Chinese minor tunes and discovered more beauty. As for the heroine of the MV, the one chosen was Song Qian, who had just been signed, giving her a chance to show her face.

At the age of 17, she was attending classes at school, and she ended up becoming an artist under an idol company in a daze. This was already unexpected enough. Unexpectedly, she has now become the heroine in an idol song MV. These surprises one after another made her feel like she was dreaming, and she even felt that her life had reached its peak.

As a student studying dance at the Affiliated High School of Beijing Dance Academy, she has always had the dream of being on stage. She has been practicing hard for this goal.
