Chapter 1426 Author's Closing Remarks

I'm a piece of trash 0.o.

这本书从2021年8月27号在番茄上线,到现在2023年9月2号完结,两年出头的时间,鹹鱼终于完成了一本两百八十万字的作品。

When I typed the last word last night, my feelings were still very complicated.

There are many reasons for writing this book. First, after reading novels for so long, I've always wanted to write one myself (I believe many people share this thought).

Secondly, I was once a chemical engineering graduate student (now a chemical engineering worker). August 2021 was the summer between my second and third year of graduate school (summer vacation? Graduate students don't get summer vacations!). After a year of slacking off in my second year, I had a feeling that my third year would be tough. But the reason I named myself "Salty Fish" is because I really am a salty fish.

Do today's work tomorrow, and worry about it in the future.

This is a very bad habit, but back then, Xianyu was able to squeeze out a lot of time from his busy scientific research life to watch... anime on Bilibili.

One day, I stumbled upon "Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash," and the lives of the main characters in this other world felt so real. Because they couldn't defeat the goblins and had no source of income, the main characters couldn't bear to throw away even their underwear with a hole in it. They wore the same pair of underwear during the day, washed it at night, dried it overnight, and wore it again the next day.

After reading it, I got carried away and decided that even a nobody like me should write an isekai adventure story.

In addition, my girlfriend graduated in June 2021. With so much free time, she suddenly had fewer chores to do, so she started creating folders and opening Word to get things done.

However, works written in a moment of impulse are clearly immature.

For example, Xianyu originally planned to write an ensemble piece, and for this purpose, he assigned Xue Feibai, Lu Zhishang, Geng Qingxue, Lü Yan, Liu Rongrong, Ning Wen, Meng Xin, and Wang Zixuan as teammates for Anuo. However, this was too difficult for a novice, and Xianyu overestimated himself.

Therefore, the reason why readers often see Anno separating from others in the novel is because the author couldn't write about that many characters, which is undoubtedly a major flaw in the book.

Of course, this book has more than one shortcoming. I have seen the good suggestions in the comments section, but on the one hand, I am not capable enough, and on the other hand, after entering the second semester of my third year of graduate school, that is, the first half of 22, I spent a lot of energy on my graduation thesis (here, I sincerely thank my graduate supervisor, my mentor).

After graduating and starting work, I had less and less time.

To be honest, because of this book, I had virtually no social life during the year after I graduated and started working.

While other colleagues go out for meals and fun after get off work, I go back to my residence and bury myself in writing.

However, updates are often interrupted due to some unavoidable busyness.

Here, I would also like to thank all the brothers who have followed this book all the way, thank you for your support along the way.

Some might say that salted fish persists because the profits are very high.

Hahaha......

Quite the opposite.

This book only had one glorious period, when it reached 1.2 million words. The editor gave it a million-word recommendation, and for half a month, the results improved slightly, making me feel like I had become an online novel author. However, it has not yet broken 100,000 reads (I remember once making a promise to crossdress if it broke 100,000 reads (︶.̮︶✽)).

But both before and after this book, its performance was disappointing; it was essentially a product of passion.

Even the salted fish knows that its poor grades are due to bad handwriting, so there's nothing to say about that.

But since it's something I wrote myself, I still want to finish writing it completely.

However, it is indeed difficult to persevere, especially without any results.

Actually, when the war between Anno and the King of the Royal Court ended, the story should have moved from the tenth volume, Ragnarok, to the eleventh volume, Möbius, which was the true final chapter. However, Xianyu ultimately compressed the content of the eleventh volume into a dozen or so chapters and released it.

Xue Feibai, who believed in "born to fight, until death," was beheaded on the eastern plain of Xuelong City by a fallen angel under the Demon God who possessed the power of "Words of Power." However, in order to protect Xuelong City, Xue Feibai's belief changed to "born to fight, until death." His headless corpse rose again to kill the invading enemies and guard the eastern plain. This part of the story is only briefly mentioned in the book.

Actually, there are still some things I want to write about.

But fearing it would become a tedious, old-fashioned story, coupled with time constraints and financial concerns, it could only be hastily concluded.

I haven't decided what to write for my next book yet; I should probably take a break for a while.

Perhaps I'll write a Western fantasy lord farming story out of personal interest, or perhaps I'll write a story to cater to the market (of course, I know my writing skills are still far from perfect and I need to grow through each book).

In any case, we'll meet again someday.

Thank you!

(I once dreamed of traveling the world with a sword, but now I just want to be a salted fish (crossed out))
