Chapter 170 Life is about taking risks
Chapter 170 Life is about taking risks
William tried his best to maintain a calm demeanor as he got into the car.
As the car took off, he gripped the handrail tightly but didn't scream; he just looked down.
"That's really high," he said.
George glanced back at him.
Are you scared?
"I'm not afraid," William said, but his voice sounded a little nervous.
"Okay, let's fly a little higher then." George smiled.
The car lurched upwards again.
William finally couldn't help but let out a gasp.
But beneath that exclamation was more excitement.
When William landed after the flight, his legs were a little weak, but his smile was brighter than anyone else's.
"It's fun!" he said. "It's so much fun!"
Philip watched from the side, shaking his head with a smile.
"Youth is wonderful."
In the afternoon, the sun began to set in the west.
Everyone gathered together, discussing what to do tomorrow.
"We're going back tomorrow," George said, a hint of reluctance in his voice. "Mom wrote to say that if we don't go back soon, she'll come and arrest us."
Philip chimed in, "I have to go back too. Henry's grandmother said she misses me—though I think she just wants someone to talk to."
"When will you come again?" Henry asked, looking at him.
"Once those two lads' wings are even better made," Philip said with a smile, "I'm going to fly myself next time."
"Really, Your Highness?" George and Fred's eyes lit up again.
"Of course," Philip said. "Don't underestimate me. I'm only seventy-one years old this year, which is the age when I need to make my mark."
"You're right, life is about movement," Fred said with a reverent expression.
"No, it's about making a fuss," Philip said honestly.
The twin brothers looked at each other and gave each other a high five.
"Your Highness is right, life is about taking risks—indeed, we share the same idea."
"I should go too." Newt stood up. "There are still many places to go."
"When will you come next time?" Charlie asked.
"Winter, I suppose," Newt said after a moment's thought. "Norwegian Spinosaurus molts its scales in winter, and I wanted to come and see."
"Then we'll wait for you," Charlie said.
Harry ran over and tugged at Newt's sleeve.
"Mr. Scamander, could you take me with you to go animal chasing next time you come?"
Newt looked down at him, his eyes full of expectation.
"When you're a little older," he said with a smile.
Harry pouted, but nodded nonetheless.
The next morning, when the sunlight streamed into the cabin, the outside was already bustling with activity.
George and Fred were packing their things, wiping the Ford clean and polishing it. The wings were still attached to the roof; they decided not to remove them and would just fly back like that.
"Let Mom see our invention," George said.
"Let her know how amazing her son is," Fred added.
Ron muttered under his breath, "Mom will just scold you for messing around again."
Philip was also ready and was standing at the door waiting.
He didn't have much luggage, just a single suitcase, but it looked very heavy.
Newt also came out, carrying his worn-out backpack and holding a notebook.
Charlie stood to the side and said goodbye to them.
"Come again next time," he said.
"Definitely." Philip nodded.
Harry ran over and hugged Philip's leg.
"Grandpa, when will you come again?"
Philip looked down at him.
"soon."
"How fast is 'very fast'?"
"Very soon is very soon."
Harry thought about it and reluctantly accepted the answer.
He then ran up to George and Fred.
"When will you come again?"
"We'll come back once we've finished 'Dragon Wing 2'," George said, squatting down.
"How long will that take?"
"I don't know. But soon."
Harry nodded and ran over to Newt.
"Mr. Scamander, will you really come in winter?"
"Really," Newt nodded.
Harry was satisfied. He ran back to William and took his hand.
"They will all come."
"Yes," William replied.
Ron and Harry were also ready and stood to the side waiting.
They were going to spend the rest of their summer vacation together at the Burrow, which also happened to be the time for Henry to finish his secondary school studies.
"Your Highness, thank you," Ron said as he approached Henry.
"What are you thanking me for?" Henry looked at him.
"Thank you for helping Harry, thank you for letting us stay here, thank you—" He lowered his head somewhat awkwardly, "Thank you for everything you've done."
"You're welcome," Henry said with a smile.
As long as you don't say "thank you" to me, I've never said the word "thank you" in my life.
"Henry," Harry said softly as he approached, "If there's anything I can do about that elf—Dobby—just let me know."
"Yes, I will." Henry nodded.
"Okay." Harry smiled.
One by one, everyone boarded the cars. George and Fred's Ford was the first to take off. Its wings flapped, and the car slowly rose into the air, swayed for a moment, and then flew away into the distance.
Ron leaned out of the car window and waved to them.
See you next semester!
Harry also leaned out and waved.
See you next semester!
Philip got into the black sedan and nodded to Henry.
"We'll come again next time."
"Okay," Henry nodded.
The car drove out of the protected area and disappeared from sight.
Newt left too, carrying his worn-out backpack, and slowly walked down the hillside, saying he was going to check out a nearby place.
Charlie stood next to Henry, watching the direction the men had gone.
They're all gone.
"Um."
When are you leaving?
"This afternoon," Henry said with a smile.
"Then I'll have someone prepare lunch," Charlie replied.
Harry ran over and took Henry's hand.
"Brother, when will we come again next time?"
"When do you want to come?" Henry looked down at him.
Harry lowered his head in thought, seemingly pondering for a long time before finally saying, "Tomorrow?"
William laughed beside him: "You can't do it tomorrow, you have to go to school."
"Then this weekend?" Harry pouted.
"Weekends are fine," Henry said, "but only if you study hard."
Harry then cheered up and pulled William along to the paddock in Norbert, presumably to say goodbye.
Henry stood on the hillside, watching their retreating figures.
In the distance, Norbert let out a screech.
Cecilion also called out from his own paddock.
In the afternoon, Henry took William and Harry away from the reserve.
As the car drove out of the gate, Harry kept his face pressed against the window, watching the hillside recede into the distance.
"Noberta is still watching us," he said.
Henry glanced in the rearview mirror.
Indeed, Norbert stood motionless in the paddock, facing their direction.
"It will remember you," Henry said.
"I will remember it too," Harry said earnestly.
"Me too," William Zhang Lifeng said angrily.
