Chapter 164 Dobby's News

Chapter 164 Dobby's News

A soft crackling sound rang out.

The next second, a small figure appeared in the room.

She is Lucy, a house-elf.

"Your Highness," Lucy said softly, her voice low so as not to wake the two children, "Did you call me?"

"I have something I want to ask you," Henry said.

Lucy blinked her big eyes, waiting for him to continue asking questions.

Henry sat down in a chair by the window and asked slowly, "Do you know a house-elf named Dobby?"

Lucy's expression changed, not because she was bothered by the matter, but Henry could tell almost immediately that Lucy disliked Dobby very much.

"Lucy knows," Lucy said. "Dobby is a Malfoy elf."

"Tell me about him," Henry said.

Lucy was silent for a while, as if organizing her thoughts, and after a long pause, she finally spoke.

"Dobby is a Malfoy house-elf," she said. "He's worked there for many, very long years. The Malfoys haven't been very kind to him—but most wizards aren't very kind to house-elves, and His Highness is a rare exception."

"Lucy has seen him a few times, at the place where the elves gather, but Lucy thinks he should be treated this way—you know what? He's an outcast!"

"What kind of oddball?" Henry asked, raising an eyebrow.

"He thinks house-elves should be paid, not work," Lucy said angrily. "How can that be allowed? That kind of thinking is so dangerous!"

Henry didn't refute anything, after all, everyone has their own ideas.

"Why would he help Harry Potter?" he asked.

"Because Dobby thinks Harry Potter is a good person," Lucy said. "He overheard Mr. Malfoy talking to those guests, and he heard them talking about Harry Potter. He heard them say that Harry Potter defeated the Dark Lord and is the hope of the wizarding world, and he felt that such a person should be protected."

"And Dobby is lonely; he has no friends, and none of us want to talk to him. Maybe when he heard about Harry Potter, he felt like he wanted to do something."

Henry nodded thoughtfully.

"Does he realize that the way he helped Harry actually made Harry even more upset?"

"He knows," Lucy said with some regret. "He was very sad after he found out. He told the other elves that he wanted to apologize, but he didn't dare. He was afraid that his master would find out and that he would be punished even more severely."

"Can you get in touch with him?" Henry asked, looking at her.

"Lucy can give it a try," Lucy said after thinking for a moment. "The elves have their own methods, but the Malfoy elves are kept very strict and it's not easy for them to get out."

"No rush, give it a try first," Henry nodded and said. "If you get in touch, ask him a few questions for me."

O

"Please speak, Your Highness," Lucy said, adopting an attentive listening posture.

"First, he wanted to help Harry, but he did it the wrong way. If he had a better way, would he want to try it?"

Lucy blinked and listened attentively.

"Secondly, if he needs help—for example, if he wants to leave the Malfoys—I can help him."

Lucy's eyes widened.

"Leave?" she whispered. "Your Highness, elves cannot leave their masters. Unless their masters give them clothes."

"I know," Henry said, "but what if the master is willing to give it?"

"Your Highness—you mean—" Lucy asked in disbelief.

"I haven't thought about anything. I'm just asking first," Henry said, shaking his head. "If he's interested, we'll see what to do next."

"Lucy understands! Lucy will give it a try." Lucy said happily, "Your Highness, you are a good person."

"Go to sleep. You have things to do tomorrow," Henry said with a smile.

Lucy nodded and then disappeared with a snap.

The room fell silent again, and Henry sat by the window, looking at the moonlight outside.

The Malfoys —

Lucius Malfoy.

He thought of Draco, the blond boy who always had an arrogant air about him at school. Draco wasn't actually a bad person; he was just spoiled by his family and brainwashed by the sense of superiority that comes with pure blood. He was different from his father.

But Lucius—

Henry squinted.

Dobby's situation—perhaps it can be used to our advantage; if used well, it might even bring the Malfoy family back to their senses.

The next morning, Henry was awakened by a scream.

It's Harry's voice.

"Noberta! Noberta! I'm here!"

Henry opened his eyes and saw that Harry was already dressed and rushing out.

-

William followed behind him, not shouting, but his pace was not slow either.

He sat up and rubbed his temples.

These two little ones have so much energy.

After washing up, he walked out of the wooden house.

Outside, the sun was shining brightly and the air was fresh.

Dewdrops still clung to the blades of grass on the hillside, glistening in the sunlight.

In the distance, in the paddock, Norbert was lying on a rock sunbathing when he saw Harry and William running over and looked up to call out.

George and Fred also got up and were chatting with Charlie by the now-extinguished campfire.

Judging from their expressions, they're probably discussing some flight plan again.

Ron and Harry sat on the steps in front of the cabin, each holding a cup of hot tea, and didn't seem fully awake yet.

Philip also got up and was standing on the hillside, gazing at the scenery of the reserve.

His back was very straight, not at all like a man in his seventies.

Henry walked over and stood beside him.

"Good morning, Grandpa."

"Good morning." Philip nodded and pointed to the paddock in the distance. "That dragon seems bigger today than yesterday."

"Impossible, it can't grow that much in one night." Henry laughed.

"I know, I just find it interesting." Philip smiled, turning to Henry. "Did you sleep well last night?"

"That's good," Henry said.

Breakfast was eaten at the research center. After Henry finished the last slice of bread, he stood up.

"I'm going out for a walk," he said.

No one took it seriously and was busy with their own breakfasts.

He walked out of the research center and slowly walked up the hillside.

The sun was shining brightly, and it felt warm and cozy on my skin.

He walked to an open space and stopped.

"Lucy," he said softly.

With a snap, Lucy appeared.

She looked a little tired, with shadows under her big eyes, as if she hadn't slept well.

But she was in good spirits and stood very straight.

"Your Highness," she said.

Henry looked at her and asked, "Have you made contact?"

"We've made contact," Lucy nodded. "Dobby's willing to talk."

"So fast?" Henry was somewhat surprised.

Lucy explained, "The fairies have their own methods. Last night, Lucy went to a fairy who knows Dobby and asked her to pass on a message. Dobby replied this morning."
