Chapter 4 The Angel God is Dead
Jin Yang glanced at Qian Daoliu. That idiot, he didn't even know something was wrong at home.
I said, the angel god is dead.
"Huh?" Qian Daoliu didn't react for a moment, then finally realized what Jin Yang was talking about, and a blank expression appeared on his face.
"The Goddess Ancestor, she..." Qian Daoliu choked on the last word. How could this be? How could the Angel God be dead?
"My Lord, you must be mistaken?" Qian Daoliu stammered. The Angel God was the faith of their Spirit Hall and the faith of their Qian family. The fall of the Angel God was something he could not accept.
"I am the high priest of the Angel God. I can sense the Angel God's divine will, and the Angel God's test can also function normally." Qian Daoliu held onto a sliver of hope. If an ordinary person said that the Angel God was dead, he would only consider it nonsense, but these words did indeed come from the mouth of a divine beast.
"Your realm is too low; you can't even distinguish the source of divine sense." Jin Yang clenched his fist, a dazzling light emanating from his hand, and punched the angel statue.
"No!" Qian Daoliu was horrified. He never expected that the divine beast would try to destroy the statue of the angel god, which was the channel to communicate with the angel god and the means to be given divine trials. He hurriedly tried to stop it, but how could he stop Jin Yang?
The light shattered the statue, cutting it in half. Qian Dao's face turned ashen. It was over; he had failed the angel goddess.
But soon, Qian Daoliu noticed something amiss. The temperature inside the room suddenly rose, and the center of the statue was hollow, with a raging flame burning inside. He could even sense the aura of the angel god in this flame.
Could it be…? Recalling what the divine beast had just said, he abruptly turned to look at Jin Yang, his tone filled with disbelief: “Divine Beast, what is this?”
"The Seed of Nirvana, her soul now resides within it, and the angelic divine thoughts you sensed emanated from this fire." Jin Yang's tone was devoid of emotion, yet it sent a chill down one's spine.
"The Goddess Ancestor... really perished?" Qian Daoliu asked Jin Yang with difficulty, while the Lion Douluo and Light Feather Douluo, who had been standing by for a long time, were completely dumbfounded.
First, a divine beast appeared in the world, then came the shocking secret of the fall of the angel god. Now, the two of them are starting to wonder if their older brother will silence them.
The two brothers now dare not move, silently serving as background figures, minimizing their presence.
"She's not quite dead yet." Jin Yang beckoned and drew the ball of flame into his palm. "My Seed of Nirvana has protected her soul from destruction. She only needs enough light energy to be resurrected. However, in that case, she will have to start her cultivation again. As for the Angel Godhood, it is currently vacant, so she can continue her divine trials."
"I see." Qian Daoliu breathed a sigh of relief. It was good that the Angel God was not dead; otherwise, if the news got out, it would undoubtedly be the biggest blow to their Spirit Hall.
"My Lord Divine Beast, what are you doing?" Qian Daoliu's eyes suddenly widened, and he asked in alarm. He saw that Jin Yang had actually stuffed the ball of flame that housed the soul of the angel god into his mouth.
"Hmm, slightly sweet." Jin Yang chewed on the flame, swallowed it, and smiled with satisfaction.
Qian Daoliu was dumbfounded. How could the Divine Beast have eaten the Angel God?
"Alright, stop looking so gloomy." Jin Yang glanced at Qian Daoliu, who looked dejected. "My body is the place with the most abundant light energy in the world, and it is also the most suitable place for the seed of Nirvana to grow."
As the embodiment of the sun, his body is constantly burning with endless flames, nurturing the ultimate energy of light.
"My Lord Divine Beast, you're not going to give birth to the God Ancestor, are you?" The Lion Douluo couldn't help but ask, then quickly slapped himself and shrank back.
Jin Yang glanced speechlessly at Lion Douluo, "Don't use your laughable perspective to speculate on the methods of gods."
"Alright, now gather everyone in the Hall of Offerings. I have some tasks for you."
……
After a stick of incense had burned, all seven elders arrived at the council hall. Apart from Qian Daoliu, Xiong Shi, and Guang Ling, the others looked at the young man sitting in the main seat with curiosity, while their elder brother condescended to sit to the side.
"Dao Liu, who is this?" Golden Crocodile Douluo is the oldest of the seven great elders besides Qian Dao Liu, a level 98 Super Douluo, a true veteran.
But he was getting a little uneasy. The reactions of Lion and Lightfeather were very strange to him. Weren't those two usually the most talkative? Why were they suddenly silent and acting like grandsons?
And the eldest brother served him closely; anyone who didn't know better would think that he, the high priest, was serving an angel god.
The unusual atmosphere made Jin E realize that the young man sitting in the main seat was probably not a simple person.
"Is everyone here?" Qian Daoliu glanced around, stood up, and said, "Let me introduce this gentleman to you."
"He is the great being recorded in our Spirit Hall who helped the Angel God sweep away evil and drive away the spirit beasts—that legendary divine beast of light!"
As Qian Daoliu's voice fell, his tone filled with respect and fervor, the many worshippers present fell into a deathly silence.
The sudden, shocking news left the several elders somewhat bewildered.
"Brother, you haven't been tricked, have you?" Jin E frowned. He couldn't see anything special about Jin Yang.
"Fourth brother, fifth brother, why are you both mute?" Golden Crocodile turned to Lion and Light Feather, "Are you following your eldest brother's nonsense too?"
"Haha." Lion and Lightfeather chuckled twice, but they couldn't reveal what happened in the Angel Temple. The news of the Angel God's fall was still too horrifying. Their elder brother had given them a strict gag order. If they dared to utter a single word, their elder brother would bury them with his own hands.
"Second brother, eldest brother didn't lie," Guangling managed to say.
"You brat, what tricks have you played to dare to come to our Hall of Worship and swindle people?" The straightforward Demon-Slaying Douluo pulled out his Panlong Staff and pointed it at Jin Yang, speaking rudely.
*Slap!* Just as Qian Daoliu was about to reprimand him, Jin Yang waved his hand.
Then Jin Yang looked at the worshippers, his golden pupils burning like the sun, his indifferent gaze sweeping over Jin E and the others.
In an instant, the six elders, excluding Qian Daoliu, were stunned by what they saw. In the endless black void, a massive fireball, far beyond their imagination, appeared before them—the sun!
The six worshippers stopped breathing and almost lost all ability to think. This shattered their understanding that their insignificance was nothing more than dust compared to the vast sun.
The sun gradually magnified in the eyes of the worshippers, who were drawn towards it by an invisible force. Yet, the eternal light and heat never paid any attention to the appearance and demise of a few ants.
That was a feeling more terrifying than death, a sense of nothingness that even one's existence was to be erased. If one's existence was no different from dust, what was the point of being alive or dead?
