Chapter 107 The Cloning Wave
Chapter 107 The Cloning Wave
As the war raged on, the rebels, unable to prevail in traditional territories, began to seek entirely new paths.
The rebellion of the Boros Global Foundation has entered its most tragic phase. Countless warships are intertwined in the starry sky, creating a tragic scene. Energy beams are poured down like a torrential rain, turning ships into burning wreckage.
"Commander, the 13th Army Corps has encountered the enemy's main force and requests reinforcements," came the messenger's voice through the communicator.
Karen stared with a furrowed brow at the war-torn star map. He knew the Third Legion was in a dangerous situation; Marshal Vickers' private army was closing in, and the rebels' defenses were crumbling.
"Order the Fifth Legion to reinforce the front and hold the line," Karen gave the order, while turning to his trusted secretary and asking, "What is the casualty situation at the front?"

Lia's expression was grave. "Commander, the situation is not optimistic. At the current rate, our troop reserves cannot sustain a war of attrition with the enemy."
Karen silently calculated the losses for both sides. The clash between civilizations from the same technological age was a contest of productivity, and his time was running out.
"Commander," Lia's voice interrupted Karen's thoughts, "there is an observation report from human civilization."
"Bring them in."
The star map was magnified infinitely. Since human civilization lacked the ability to deploy anti-detection systems, Karen could directly see from a distance that they had built an outpost in their neighboring star system, marking their mastery of faster-than-light travel technology and the beginning of their outward expansion.
"Faster than I imagined," Karen muttered to himself. Perhaps he had underestimated the potential of this nascent civilization. In addition to the protection afforded by the Undead Dragons, this race itself possessed powerful talents.
He recalled the research reports he had read before. The time it took for human civilization to go from the agricultural era to the interstellar era was so short, it seemed that their race had no bottlenecks in development, which was extremely rare in the entire interstellar society.
Karen looked at the war-torn star field on the star map. These rigid pioneers were still fighting endlessly, while the late-developing human civilization was young and full of hope, which made him envious.
"Continue to closely monitor the movements of human civilization," Karen said, "and prepare to send a message to human civilization. Leah, help me draft a diplomatic document."
He paused, gathered his thoughts, and then slowly said, "Congratulations on their successful departure from their home star system. We have always hoped to establish genuine friendship and cooperation with them."
"I am currently leading a revolution against the foundation's board of directors, a revolution aimed at overthrowing the corrupt and rigid old order and establishing a more just and efficient new order."
"The revolution has reached its decisive moment. If I can successfully overthrow the board's rule, I will send an embassy to human civilization in the name of the Boros Global Foundation and sign scientific research cooperation agreements and commercial trade agreements with them."
"I also want to announce to the entire galaxy that the Boros Space Foundation has officially formed an alliance with human civilization, requiring all friendly civilizations of the Foundation to update their star maps and mark the territory of human civilization in the galaxy. No affiliated civilization in the Foundation system can hinder human civilization's expansion into unclaimed star systems, even if the unclaimed star system is a buffer zone set up between the borders of different civilizations."
As Lia took notes, pondering the right words, she looked up at Karen and said, "Commander, this document—"
"Send it directly, without going through diplomatic procedures," Karen said firmly. "Use an encrypted channel to ensure it reaches human civilization safely."
"Understood," Lia's voice suddenly turned serious. "Commander, new intelligence has arrived from the front."
"explain."
"More and more board family crests are appearing on the battlefield," Leah said, pulling up a video feed. "We've identified the insignia of board families that haven't previously participated in the war, and more are appearing—"
She paused, a hint of hesitation in her voice, "More of your family crests."
"Continue monitoring," Karen said calmly. "I need the details: how many troops the board has committed, and how many families have officially joined the war."
"Understood, Commander," Lia said, turning to leave. Karen, however, turned her gaze back to the star map at the front lines, a sense of unease rising in her heart.
Has a coup occurred within the board of directors? The fact that families who were previously suspicious and obstructive of each other are now able to unite against the rebels is itself a dangerous sign.
The chief research officer rushed over. "Commander, the biological brain center server has completed its final debugging and is ready to be started at any time."
"Take me to see it."
A massive biological structure is suspended in a specially designed incubation chamber; that is the biological brain central server, a behemoth formed by the fusion of neurons and mechanical computing power.
From the outside, it looks like a brain magnified countless times, a mixture of flesh and machine, with its surface covered with dense neural networks. It looks ferocious and eerie, and can make both organic and inorganic bodies feel uncomfortable at the same time.
Countless nerve cords extend from various parts of the biological brain, connecting to the neatly arranged cloning chambers around it, and beat slowly like a heart.
"This is our hope," Karen said, looking at the behemoth with a complex light in her eyes. No matter how the battle went, this forbidden restart would be dancing on a knife's edge.
"Commander, the design templates for the first batch of clones have entered the application stage and are being developed," a technician stationed here reported. "The experimental model comprises a total of 10,000 clones."
Karen walked up to a cloning chamber and looked inside through the transparent walls. It was undoubtedly a clone of the Foundation's main race, its yellowish-green skin gleaming faintly in the culture medium.
Unlike the Foundation's main race, which is born naturally, this clone's body has been carefully designed and modified. Karen has seen the design drawings. This template clone has dozens of extra organs and glands of various sizes, as well as hundreds of reinforced bones, compared to its naturally born counterparts, making it naturally taller.
Through the neural cables in the cloning chamber, these embryos are connected to the biological brain's central server. While they are still developing, the biological brain downloads the knowledge required to become a qualified space warrior into their brains, as if they have already experienced the vicissitudes of battle before their bodies are even fully formed.
"They are stronger, more perfect," the technician's voice was filled with pride, as if he were looking at a masterpiece in his hands that could shock the world. "We have removed all the genetic sequences that were considered defective and enhanced the traits that are beneficial to combat. These clones were born for war from the moment they were born."
Karen turned to the technicians. "Once development is complete, activate the first batch of clones, give them a final check, and then immediately incorporate them into the front-line legions. I want to see the combat effectiveness of the soldiers produced by this template."
"Understood, Commander!"
The launch of the cloning program means that the rebels will receive a continuous supply of troops, using relatively cheap lives to exert combat power far exceeding that of ordinary genetically modified soldiers.
"Vickers," Karen silently murmured the name in her mind. "A war of attrition? Now let's see who the final winner is."
A wave of cloning is about to sweep across the entire battlefield.
