Barbara was not a weak person. From the day she decided to become a superhero, she was prepared to sacrifice herself, but she never expected that death would come so quickly.
Two gunmen stood on either side, one wielding a knife and the other a sword. The black knives and swords gleamed in the darkness, illuminated by the glow of tungsten lamps. Each slash pierced the armor plate, leaving long, narrow gashes behind them.
Barbara felt like she could barely stand: she might have a chance against one gunman, but against two, she had no chance at all.
His body was getting more and more wounded, and his power armor was becoming increasingly worn out.
The girl staggered backward, the electrical pulses on her arm coming and going; clearly, the damage to the armor affected many of its functions.
The two gunmen did not let go of this weak opponent; they stepped forward, their eyes filled with murderous intent.
The feeling of impending death was so intense that Barbara could barely breathe.
"I'm really going to die."
"It doesn't seem like it."
"Damn it!".
Barbara did not regret her decision; she only hated her own incompetence. If she had cultivated properly, even with only one-fifth of her master's abilities, she would not have ended up like this.
Just then, footsteps sounded ahead.
A person wearing a white mask ran up to them and made a request.
"You two, get back to the hall immediately, quick!"
After saying that, he turned and left, as if he had something urgent to attend to.
The two gunmen silently put away their weapons, not even glancing at Barbara, and disappeared into the darkness like obedient puppets.
"Wake up."
As her energy dissipated, Barbara collapsed to the ground, her head ringing with pain. She had seven wounds, the most serious on her stomach and legs, and they were still bleeding.
Waves of exhaustion washed over her, and the girl forced herself to take off her armor, used healing glue to stop the bleeding from her wounds, and then, as if she had used up all her strength, she leaned against the wall and lost consciousness.
Owl Court Headquarters.
The sounds of fighting came from outside, but quickly subsided. The members of the crowd looked at each other, and finally, without prior arrangement, they all looked towards the gate.
The heavy marble door slowly opened, and a cold wind blew in, carrying a faint smell of blood.
Ten strangers in power armor appeared at the entrance. Their armor was different from MAXKⅠ, being smaller and more slender, giving it a unique aesthetic appeal.
Ten people entered the hall and split into two rows.
Behind them, an Asian man, not young, about seventeen or eighteen years old, walked out. He was wearing a white fitted suit and had a somewhat frivolous smile.
"Xu Fu-Xiao?"
"What's he doing here? What's he doing here?"
"Perhaps it was for robbery?"
Quiet conversations filled the hall. The people gathered together looked ahead with strange and challenging eyes, and those who sensed something was wrong even reached out to touch their weapons.
"Gentlemen!"
Xu Fu opened his arms and nodded: "It's a pleasure to see you all at this moment. My name is Xu Fu-Xiao. There's no need to introduce myself; I believe you all know me very well."
“Uninvited guests are inevitable, but luckily you all have some grudges against me.” He then turned his gaze to the people present: “I’ve heard that the Owl Court has two judges. Which one is the esteemed judge?”
Everyone instinctively looked up, and Sir Blackhawk and the judge in red robes appeared at the top of the stairs, staring directly at Xu Fu-Xiao.
"Great, you're all here. Looks like I don't need to come here anymore."
Xu Fu took a few steps forward and approached the crowd: "Your Honor, both judges, who can give me a statement?"
"statement?"
Sir Blackhawk descended the stairs. Dead soldiers and snipers were rushing from various outposts; he needed to buy time, and
"You stormed into the imperial headquarters, killed one of our people, and now you dare to demand an explanation from us? It's laughable."
"Your Excellency is adept at switching between good and evil. It is obvious that you stole my goods and sent assassins to kill me. If I hadn't been lucky, I would have died in Wayne Manor long ago."
Xu Fu sighed and said helplessly, "I still can't understand this. I have no grudge against the Owl Court, so why are you treating me like this?"
"Your Honor, can you tell me why?"
silence!
Deathly silence!
The crowd whispered amongst themselves, casting glances at Sir Blackhawk. The night of revenge had been decided by them, but Xu Fu-Xiao's name was not on the list of those to be murdered.
Sensing the doubts of the crowd, Sir Redlight immediately stepped forward and sternly rebuked them.
"If you want to be our enemy, then come on. Don't make up these ridiculous reasons. The owl is not afraid of any opponent."
Xu Fu laughed heartily and clapped his hands, saying...
"That gentleman in the Christmas suit has the mouth of a politician. The facts that many socialites witnessed at the banquet that day have all become lies in your mouth."
"No wonder the Owl Court is getting worse every day. It turns out it's the boss's fault. I really don't know how liars like you managed to get to the chief's position. Surely you didn't do it by sitting on your asses!"
Xu Fu looked them up and down, snorted, and nodded: "Indeed, their butts are round and big, they must look very good when they stick their butts out."
""
Everyone present was stunned, speechless. In such a tense moment, he actually had the mood to joke.
The people behind Xu Fu were less restrained: they pointed at the lower bodies of the two men, gesturing back and forth, and some even made very lewd gestures.
The judge in the red robe blushed visibly, his chest heaving, as if he were about to explode.
Sir Blackhawk's face was also contorted with rage, his fists clenched tightly.
813 As an interrogator, when had he ever suffered such humiliation?
"very good."
Xu Fu waved his hand. "Enough with the nonsense. I, Xiao, have plenty of whetstones. Since you want to kill me, be prepared to be killed. Judge is the organizer; I only want your lives. The rest of you," he pointed to the corner of the wall, gesturing a circle, "Stand there and don't make any rash moves. I'll pretend nothing happened." If you refuse.
His murderous gaze swept around, and no one dared to meet his eyes.
"Then go to hell!"
"You're the one who's going to die."
The red-skinned judge pulled out a submachine gun and wildly swung his arms. Bullets rained down, and when they reached half a meter in front of Xu Fu, they seemed to hit a wall and bounced off in all directions. A white barrier floated in the air, seemingly there and not there. This barrier protected Xu Fu's body and isolated him from all attacks.
Xu Fu ignored it, raised his index finger, and uttered a single word.
"Ten seconds."
"If you all remain standing still after ten seconds, I will take that you have rejected my offer."
"Ten seconds"
九秒
"Eight seconds"
"Seven seconds"
"six"
When the count reached "six", some people couldn't sit still. When the count reached "three", they rushed out of the crowd and ran towards the "safe zone" that Xu Fu pointed out.
As they ran, the entire courtroom descended into chaos.
Chapter 1331 Died on the Spot
The battle began the moment the last word was uttered.
The ten people behind Xu Fu raised their right hands at the same time, and blue light shone from their palms.
Bang
The energy blast cleaved through the air, pierced through figures, and exploded again upon hitting the ground.
Explosions rang out one after another, killing more than a dozen people on the spot.
Those who managed to escape looked at what had happened with a mixture of fear and gratitude in their eyes, while the rest ran like madmen, shouting for help as they ran.
"Dio, don't go alone."
"Understood, Master."
Dio led three men, splitting into two groups to block the other two exits, while the rest rushed into the hall and fought with the assassins who poured out from the inner room.
Xu Fu sat on the stone chair, watching expressionlessly.
Besides these people, he also has an army of mechanical rats. Under Ava's command, these rats rush towards the various entrances and exits. Tonight, only the dead can leave here; there will be no survivors.
These undead soldiers are warriors carefully trained by the Owl Court. They have lived in the base since childhood and have been instilled with the idea of loyalty to the court at all times. Because of their loyalty to the court, coupled with the aid of anesthetic drugs, they are no longer normal people, but slaves who only obey the orders of slaves.
These people are not weak in combat; each of them is equivalent to a special forces soldier.
Unfortunately, in the end, they were all flesh and blood. As they rushed forward, they died in droves. The heavy losses made Sir Blackhawk's eyes twitch.
"Claw Squad, take them down."
Seven claws wielding black knives and swords appeared in the hall.
