Xu Fu laughed out loud.
“I used to be, but now... I don’t like the name, so I gave it up. Okay, let’s not change the subject.”
Xu Fu walked over and looked directly at her: "Answer the question from before, are you leaving or staying?"
The girl scratched her hair in frustration.
Is this considered a suggestion?
Xu Fu: "..."
"Brainless fans, what's there to say?" After thinking for a while, she clarified.
"These two choices don't concern me much; it's mainly up to you whether you want to become like your father or choose a broader path. If it's the latter, I'll be very happy and offer you some help."
"What if it's the former?"
"Will you go against me?"
"of course not.
Xu Fu shrugged, half-jokingly saying, "It's rare to see such a beautiful girl in decades. It would be foolish to pounce on her."
Barbara inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief, hesitated for a few seconds, and then whispered:
Can you give me a chance to think about it?
"Of course, my door is always open to you."
Xu Fu smiled, but a hint of sadness flashed deep in his eyes.
Changing a person is never easy.
...
When news of the attack on the police station reached Gotham City Hall, and seeing the newly appointed mayor Mars hastily leading a group of cronies to a safe place, he considered hiding in the suburbs. However, after careful consideration, he abandoned the idea. The Sof court was very powerful, with henchmen in various fields, and they certainly had people in the political and legal circles. If the news of his hiding place were leaked, he would only face certain death.
If we hide in the city hall, at least there are guards there, but I don't know how long those soldiers can hold out.
Thinking of the trouble the owl had caused, Mars couldn't help but swear.
The waiting was agonizing. Mars could do nothing but lean back in his chair and close his eyes to rest, while his bodyguard stood by, his muscles tense, waiting patiently.
An atmosphere of despair had been lingering in the room for who knows how long, when suddenly heavy footsteps sounded outside the door.
The footsteps were very dense, indicating at least seven or eight people.
The men's faces changed; they were panicked. It was terrifying that the Owl Court had defeated the guards in such a short time. They had no idea that it was a fully armed squad.
Mars clenched his fists and stared intently at the door.
The footsteps approached quickly, stopping at the door.
"Mr. Mayor, someone called you twenty minutes ago, and I'm here now."
Mars was overjoyed and hurriedly stood up from his chair to say...
"Didn't you say it would take half an hour? How come we got here so quickly?"
"The longer we delay, the more trouble we'll cause. Could you please open the door?"
Mars waved his hand. The bodyguard hesitated for a moment, but seeing that the mayor insisted, he could only unlock the eight security locks and push open the 20-centimeter-thick iron door.
Dio, dressed in his Flying Shadow armor, entered the room, scanned the surroundings, and finally stopped in front of Mars.
"This matter is of great importance. I can only speak with the mayor. Please leave the room."
Everyone frowned, clearly displeased. This guy's tone was too decisive, bordering on overbearing. Someone glanced back. Mars paused for a moment, then waved his hand and said...
"Everyone, get out."
The adjutant hesitated for a moment: "Are we really going to do this? We don't even know where this person is from, what if..."
"It's okay, I know what's going on."
Seeing this, no one said anything more and they all left.
After everyone left, Dio closed the door, opened the computer in his suitcase, and a map of Gotham City appeared on the screen, with a red dot clearly visible.
"The red dot indicates the location of the MAXKⅠ power armor. With it, there's no need to worry about being attacked by bandits wearing power armor."
"Great."
Mars clenched his fists. At this rate, the Court of Owls would be like a fish in a net, with no way to escape.
Dio continued, "The computer will help you find the bandits, but the riflemen don't wear armor. After thinking about it, I've decided that for your safety, I will stay here and protect you along with four warriors wearing Flying Shadow armor."
813 "With me here, I will absolutely not let anything happen to you."
Mars looked Dio up and down and said skeptically.
"May I ask who you are, sir?"
Dio removed his armor, revealing an androgynous face that could captivate most young men and women, and said...
"Dio, Tesla's chief safety officer."
"So it was you. I didn't expect Xu Fu-Xiao to send you."
Upon hearing the identity of the person speaking, Mars' last shred of doubt vanished. After a moment's thought, he said in a deep voice...
"I can feel Mr. Xiao's sincerity. Since that's the case, I have nothing more to say. The contract is fine, it's just the price..." At the mention of money, Mars's lips twitched uncontrollably. This was a massive order worth billions of dollars!
"Could you offer an additional two percent discount on top of the original price?"
"I will relay your words to the young master verbatim, Mr. Mayor. This computer is very important, please keep it a secret."
Mars nodded and said seriously.
"No one else besides me, Jim Gordon, and Harvey Dent will know about this."
"I hope so."
Dio put on his cloak, turned and left.
Once he got the computer, Mars immediately contacted Jim Gordon and, using clues on the map, surrounded the Court of Owls throughout the city.
And so, the great battle began.
Chapter 1321 Xu Fu and the Owl Court
With Xu Fu's arrival, the course of the battle underwent a dramatic change.
Jim Gordon's former partner and current chief Hank's Gotham City East Precinct Police Department has also become a target of the Owl Court.
When the sharpshooter led four assassins clad in MAXK I power armor into the building, they were not met by panicked police, but by four heavy machine guns, bullets raining down on them.
The muzzle flashes from the machine guns illuminated the entire floor, and the deafening roar was deafening as glass, door frames, and walls were shattered.
The five people had no time to react and were engulfed in a hail of bullets.
The MAXK I has extremely strong defensive capabilities, but it can't withstand such shooting. If it were a regular rifle, the bullets would be fine, but the opponent was using 127 caliber armor-piercing helical rounds, which are designed to take down heavy tanks.
Without a word, the four fallen soldiers lay stiffly on the ground, their armor shattered into pieces. They had no intact, sharp claws to fight with, and unfortunately, riddled with bullet holes, they were unable to make any effective movements. The police then bound them together with iron chains.
After everyone had settled in, Hank came out of the inner room excitedly, took out his phone, dialed Jim Gordon's number, and then...
"We've arrived. Where to go next?"
...
Similar incidents occurred frequently in various neighborhoods. Jim Gordon, taking advantage of his superior intelligence, caught the Court of Owls off guard and disposed of more than thirty soldiers' bodies in just half an hour.
By the time Sir Blackhawk reacted, the situation was already out of control.
Of the more than 80 soldiers who died in action, nearly half have disappeared without a trace, the rest are surrounded by the police, and there is another piece of bad news.
According to intelligence provided by secret spies, there is a group of mysterious individuals in the police force with unknown origins. They are dressed in brown power armor and are extremely powerful in combat, making them no match for the assassins in one-on-one situations.
Upon hearing this news, Sir Blackhawk slumped into a chair and collapsed onto the floor.
"Xu Fu-Xiao!"
He roared furiously, like a raging beast, and
"How dare you deceive me!"
"Bastard!"
Bang
The stone workbench was smashed to pieces. Sir Blackhawk stood up and said earnestly.
"Notify all assassins to remove their power armor and return to the underground labyrinth in batches. Have Claw guard all exits. Anyone who enters must be killed without exception."
Without hesitation, the assistant hurriedly left the office. After issuing the order, the entire courtroom erupted in chaos. These "high and mighty" old nobles looked at each other, and everyone saw shock and panic in each other's eyes.
No one expected it to end like this.
I swear, this raid was actually under enemy control, and the casualties were heavy. Needless to say, the dead soldiers were a huge loss, but what I felt sorry for were the claws. Each claw was one of a hundred soldiers. The preparations were extremely difficult, requiring not only a lot of manpower and resources, but more importantly, it involved Amber Gold.
This item is priceless; it possesses the miraculous power to bring the dead back to life and cannot be measured in monetary terms.
The Owl Kingdom has existed for hundreds of years, yet it only has forty-six claws, not because there aren't enough, but because Amber Gold is extremely rare.
An atmosphere of fear permeated the hall, and every member was anxious: their families had served the court for generations and were interconnected; if the court collapsed, they would all perish.
