Chapter 109 Why not be a cat, but a monster?

If I hear the Way in the morning, I can die content in the evening.

Su Bai naturally understood the meaning behind this statement.

Even if he understood, he didn't want to just nod directly. He knew this Supreme Master Uncle too well; once he started nagging, it would never end.

Su Bai jumped off the Supreme Elder's shoulder and landed right in his hand.

He looked up at the Supreme Lord's squinty eyes.

"You went to dig a hole in the morning, took a dump, and forgot to bury it. Then you went back to bury it in the evening, and it stank so badly?"

The Supreme Being's smile froze instantly, and he raised his hand and smacked Su Bai on the head.

"Nonsense, you deserve to be hit!"

The flick on the forehead wasn't actually very forceful, but it made an extremely loud noise when it hit Su Bai's head.

The feeling was like hearing the morning bell and the evening drum, and the sound kept echoing in Su Bai's mind.

Immediately afterwards, it felt as if someone was chanting scriptures in his mind, and Su Bai raised his paw and scratched his head.

As his claws reached for his head, the chanting changed again.

Su Bai lay in Tai Shang's palm, listening to the various sounds coming from his mind. Sometimes he frowned, and sometimes he would wag his tail unconsciously because he found them pleasant.

When all the sounds suddenly ceased, he looked at the Supreme Lord with a bewildered expression.

"Do you understand now?"

Su Bai kept his mouth tightly shut, nestled in the Supreme Being's palm, and didn't utter a single word for a long time.

It's not that we don't want to speak, but that we dare not speak.

Because this time he really didn't understand anything. At first, the buzzing was indeed a bit annoying and unexpected, followed by a crackling noise.

Although some of them sound nice, they become increasingly jarring the more you listen to them.

The Supreme Being stared at Su Bai for a long while.

At this point, he had stopped smiling, and his face was basically expressionless.

When he looked at Su Bai, he even thought about whether he should just crush the thing to death with one palm.

It should be noted that what he transmitted into Su Bai's mind was the sound of creation at the beginning of time.

It contains the sounds of the Heavenly Dao, even the sounds of the Dao when Pangu created the world and when he transformed himself into all things, and the various sounds of the Dao when the primordial world was born.

Anyone with even a little bit of talent who hears these voices will be able to comprehend the supreme Dharma from them, no matter what.

Even at the very worst, one can still comprehend some supernatural powers and techniques.

But this good-for-nothing didn't understand anything at all.

Such a wondrous and mysterious sound is something that many can only dream of but never attain.

The cat, however, showed a hint of impatience, and Taishang took a deep breath upon seeing this.

If we're talking about rotten wood, this cat is truly number one.

At the same time, Taishang also sensed a natural aura emanating from Su Bai.

Tai Shang was slightly annoyed, but also found it amusing.

It felt like a pile of cow dung with some gold plastered on it.

Despite being a kitten that knows nothing, it still exudes a natural and unpretentious aura.

His words and the mysterious sounds he uttered would have been of great benefit to anyone, but they had no effect on this cat whatsoever.

For a moment, Taishang was unable to foresee what the cat would do in the future.

If you're going to call him stupid, he really is stupid.

To say he's smart is an understatement; he does possess some cleverness.

It seems that there is sometimes a thin membrane between him and the Dao, and sometimes the membrane becomes an impenetrable wall.

Tai Shang sighed helplessly, shook his head slightly, and continued walking forward, dragging the kitten along.

This place is in the north, where there are many demons. However, due to the restrictions imposed by the Goddess Nuwa, these demons are naturally unable to leave this place.

Not far away, there was a giant that looked like a small mountain.

That giant was clearly Dijiang, who had appeared in the Endless Mountains before.

For some reason, Dijiang lingered here, staring at the distant sun or looking towards the human race to the south every day.

He was curious why those humans had the same face as him, but not the same body shape.

Upon seeing the arrival of Taishang and the kitten, Dijiang did not make any move. He merely glanced at them and then continued to stare blankly.

Around him, the demons dared not approach easily, and a delicate state seemed to have formed between them.

Above this area, another grand hall also floats, but compared to the Jade Hall of the Primordial Beginning and the Grand Hall of the Supreme Being, it appears much more understated.

Once inside the territory, the Supreme Being stopped there.

"Junior sister, do you want this cat?" The Supreme Lord's voice entered the main hall directly.

However, there was no sound coming from inside the main hall.

After an unknown amount of time, Nuwa's voice finally drifted over.

"Thank you for your trouble, senior brother. Just throw him over here."

Su Bai's eye twitched slightly; he felt as if he had truly become a fur ball.

Without further ado, the Supreme Being moved his hand slightly, and the next second Su Bai broke free from his grasp and flew towards the main hall.

To Su Bai's surprise, just as he flew into the air, a white jade hand suddenly reached out from the void, first grabbing his head, then slicing through the small sword on his chest with its fingertips, instantly sweeping away the fish between the swords.

Before he could react, his body began to fly backward.

What... does this mean?

As Su Bai's body flew towards the Endless Mountains, Nuwa's voice chuckled softly, "Not bad, the feel of this is indeed much better than that of the demons here."

"Unfortunately, I don't want to see him right now. As for these fish, I'll keep them."

……

The endless mountain range, Su Bai landed right on the old Taoist's stomach, the force just right, neither too light nor too heavy.

Su Bai looked around blankly, then touched the small sword in his arms.

The remaining fish were wiped out by Nuwa, while the fish in the courtyard were wiped out by the Golden Crow.

The old Taoist priest was clearly full by now, occasionally burping from the wine, his face flushed red.

"Disciple, this fish is alright. Next time you go out, remember to give me something different. I've heard that the dragon liver and phoenix marrow from Heaven are quite good."

Su Bai was speechless. Was this a saint?

These must be reincarnations of hungry ghosts.

Thinking of this, Su Bai let out a slight sigh of relief: "Master, I just learned a talent from my second senior uncle."

The old Taoist priest raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Oh? What kind of talent?"

"May you have good fortune and all your wishes come true."

Upon hearing this, the old Taoist priest couldn't help but scoff, "Does this even require comprehension?"

"Doesn't this require understanding?"

The old Taoist priest did not answer, but lay down and continued rocking in his rocking chair.

This was Su Bai's natural talent; even if the second brother didn't intervene, he would eventually figure it out.

If he hadn't possessed this ability, how could these saints have survived to this day?

How could this place suddenly become so vibrant?

Every living being has its own unique talents and abilities, and this cat's talents are not limited to just these.

However, this cat went astray, focusing solely on learning supernatural powers and magic, and only concerned with improving its cultivation level, never once thinking of looking at itself.

But things are better now. With the second brother's guidance, I think I'll be more careful on my future cultivation path.

Just as he was thinking this, Su Bai suddenly spoke up: "Master, do you think I have the talent to fly? I feel like I could grow a pair of wings on my back. What do you think?"

"Grow wings? You believe I'll tear them off if you dare to let them grow?"

"Why would a perfectly good cat choose to be a monster?"
