Chapter 319 Little Wolf: You wouldn't mind living with me, would you?

"Dad, should we go straight to the community center now?"

After leaving the hospital, Ran, holding Conan's hand, couldn't help but ask her father, who was walking ahead of her, a question.

"Since we're already here, and judging from Dr. Asai's words, the memorial service won't start for a while. Why don't we go explore the island first, see what good food there is, and find out what's going on on the island?" Uncle Mori stroked his beard.

"But I think we should go to the memorial service first. Now that we have a clue, how can we not investigate it as soon as possible? Although the memorial service hasn't started yet, the people the doctor mentioned all have some influence on the island, so they might arrive at the memorial service early, or even organize the entire event themselves..."

Conan offered a different opinion from Uncle Mori, but as he spoke, he suddenly sensed that the atmosphere seemed a little off.

When he looked up, he found that several people around him were staring at him, their gazes intense and their expressions somewhat strange.

He immediately understood what was going on.

What he just said was too serious, not at all like a child's tone, and completely different from his previous way of speaking.

Conan blinked, chuckled naturally, grabbed Ran's arm and shook it playfully, his voice suddenly becoming childish: "Ran-neechan, how was my imitation? Didn't I look just like a detective on TV?"

Ran was amused by Conan's expression as he grabbed her wrist, and couldn't help but laugh: "Conan-kun, do you really like detective stuff that much? I must say, your imitation was really good! That serious, analytical look on your face almost made me think you weren't a child anymore, hahaha~ But how could that be?"

"Hahaha... Of course!" Seeing Sonomi look away, Uncle Mori rolled his eyes and turned his gaze away as well. Conan secretly breathed a sigh of relief, then chuckled awkwardly and said to Ran.

"Although this kid is just putting on an act, what he said does seem to make some sense. It's only natural that the next village chief should prepare the memorial service for the former village chief, right?" Uncle Mori scratched the back of his head.

"Shall we go take a look first?" He was also a little unsure of what to do now.

"We can go take a look first!" Conan quickly seized the opportunity to say, "Uncle Mori, think about it, we came to the island to accept a commission, and we just happened to come across this memorial service. If we attend, as the village chief of this island, he should treat us to the most authentic and delicious food on the island after the memorial service, right? Why should we bother to find out what good food there is on our own?"

"That's not wrong." Hearing Conan's rather childish voice, Uncle Mori immediately forgot about his strange behavior just now, rested his chin on his hand, and began to think about what Conan had said.

"The people who commissioned us, whichever of those three, seem to be quite wealthy. They definitely know more about the best food on the island than we do."

Thinking this through, Uncle Mori clapped his hands: "Yosh! It's decided then, let's head to the community center now!"

In fact, the reason why Uncle Mori made the decision so quickly was because he felt that if he could find someone to commission them, and if they wanted to eat something, would that person have the nerve to make them pay for it themselves instead of serving them?

In this way, wouldn't Kogoro Mouri not have to pay for his own meals?

Every little bit helps.

The commission fee wasn't too high to begin with, but the boat trip to the island alone would cost a lot of money.

"Madam Daidouji, would you and this young man, Changsheng... like to come with us?" Uncle Mori decided to let his client treat him to a meal while he went to freeload.

However, there was a tycoon's wife standing nearby, so he couldn't make decisions for her without her permission. Therefore, he directly asked her the question.

"Little Changsheng, do you want to continue exploring with us, or go back first?" Yuanmei didn't answer Uncle Mori's question immediately, but turned to look at Wang Changsheng.

"I'll go with everyone. I was just thinking of wandering around, but I didn't expect to meet Conan here. I want to spend more time with him." Wang Changsheng smiled broadly.

Conan: Who wants to spend more time with you!

Upon hearing Wang Changsheng's words, Conan subtly glared at him.

But all he could do for Wang Changsheng was attack him with his eyes.

Besides, whether he uses his hands or his mouth, he will likely suffer painful punishment from Uncle Mori.

But what's the use of just staring?

If looks could kill, Conan wouldn't even have a chance; he would have been glared to death by Kero long ago.

Wang Changsheng said, "This is nothing."

He was already used to being attacked with his eyes.

"Hahaha! It's an honor for little brother Changsheng to be willing to bring Conan along. In that case, let's set off together!" Uncle Mori chuckled.

After saying that, he lifted his foot to walk forward.

He quickly stopped, turned around, and his expression became somewhat embarrassed: "By the way, Ran, did Dr. Asai tell you how to get to the community center?"

Conan: "..."

Hiding behind Ran, Conan rolled his eyes at Uncle Mori.

No wonder the firm they opened before never had much popularity.

How could Uncle Mori, who is so stupid, have given birth to such a smart daughter as Ran?

Xiaolan definitely inherited her mother's traits in every way.

Fortunately, neither his personality nor his appearance resembles that of Uncle Mori.

"Thank goodness~" Conan thought to himself.

"Oh yeah, how do we get to the community center? Dr. Asai didn't seem to say anything." Ran suddenly remembered this too.

"They didn't say," Conan said. "I'll go back and ask the doctor, or maybe the nurses know too."

Seriously, I'm speechless. They only asked where to go but not how to get there.

If he hadn't been constantly being hit while talking to that doctor, he would never have forgotten to ask about such details!

"You're young and fast, so why don't you go ask?" Uncle Mori didn't refuse Conan's suggestion, but just told Conan to go and come back quickly so they wouldn't have to wait too long.

Wang Changsheng was also speechless.

He glanced at Reigen Arataka beside him, and seeing Conan turn back and run towards the hospital again, he thought for a moment and then said to Sonomi:

"Aunt Sonomi, although it seems you went to the community center on some kind of request, it's still an event on the island. Perhaps I should go back and call Sakura and Tomoyo over as well?"

"It's safer if we're all together."

Upon hearing this, Sonoko pondered for a moment and nodded: "Originally, I only planned to prepare our information at the mansion and then go back, but since that's the case, why don't you go and find Sakura and Tomoyo as well? When you're out having fun, you should see more of the local customs and activities. Staying in the guesthouse isn't very interesting."

"Okay." Wang Changsheng nodded.

However, he didn't leave immediately; instead, he waited there for a while.

Conan is very fast.

They didn't have to wait long before he hurriedly ran out with his short legs.

"I know where it is! Let's go straight ahead, follow this road, then turn left. You'll see the biggest building. It's easy to spot; you'll see it at a glance. There aren't any other buildings nearby."

Conan ran over to the group and briefly explained how to get there.

Wang Changsheng nodded, then said to Uncle Mori, Sonoko, and the others, "I'll head to the guesthouse now, and I'll come find you right away."

"Okay, go ahead, be careful on the road." Yuanmei nodded gently.

"Hmm?" Conan looked at Wang Changsheng's departing figure with a strange expression. He grabbed Ran's hand and shook it. "Ran-neechan, where is Changsheng-nii going?"

"He went to find his friends. We'll go ahead first, and he'll be here in a bit," Xiaolan explained.

"Oh, I see." Conan nodded.

Guided by Conan, the group headed towards the community center. After disappearing from their sight, Wang Changsheng darted away with Reigen Arataka, covering a distance.

With another quick movement, they were practically upon the guesthouse.

Wang Changsheng stopped using magic and instead led Reigen Shinryu into the guesthouse.

Just then, they ran into the little wolf coming down from upstairs.

"Huh? You're back?" Little Wolf was taken aback when he saw Wang Changsheng and the other person, then took three steps at a time and walked up to Wang Changsheng.

"Uh, I'm back." Wang Changsheng blinked.

He's all here, hasn't he come back or what?

Where did you go for a stroll?

"I didn't go anywhere, but I ran into some acquaintances and Aunt Yuanmei," Wang Changsheng said casually.

"Tomoyo Daidouji's mother?" Syaoran paused. "So you went to the public hall just now?"

"Yes, we just walked and ended up there." Wang Changsheng nodded, not denying it, and then started walking upstairs. "Do we live upstairs? Are Sakura and Tomoyo up there?"

"They're all in their rooms." Little Wolf caught up. "What's wrong? Do you need them for something? We seem to be late, there aren't many rooms left, so you... and this person, will have to share a room with me."

When Xiaolang spoke, his cheeks were slightly flushed, perhaps because he was too hot from running up and down the stairs.

"You won't mind, will you?"

"Huh?" Wang Changsheng turned his head and looked at Xiaolang with some doubt as he went up the stairs. "What do I have to mind? Isn't it just right for us to live together? There's nothing we can do about not having a room. If you were living with other people, you might not be used to it."

I would only mind if you lived with Sakura and Tomoyo!

Suddenly, Wang Changsheng seemed to remember something and pouted, "You wouldn't want to live with me, would you?"

"Is that the last room? If it is, there's nothing you can do even if you don't want to." In front of Xiao Lang and Xiao Ke, Wang Changsheng didn't have many restrictions and could say whatever he wanted. He immediately rolled his eyes.

"No..." Little Wolf shook his head repeatedly, "I was worried that you wouldn't want to share a room with me, not that I didn't want to live with you."

"Then that's all." Wang Changsheng waved his hand casually. "By the way, how many beds are in that room? Wouldn't it be a bit too crowded for three people?"

"There are three rooms. I checked the room, and it's not too small. The triple room is quite spacious, and it should be just enough for us." Little Wolf glanced at Reigen Arataka behind them before speaking.

"That's fine then." Wang Changsheng nodded.

As they spoke, they arrived at the second floor of the guesthouse.

"Where is it?" Wang Changsheng looked around.

"If you're looking for Kinomoto and the others, they're over there." Syaoran pointed to the second door on the left, then to the last two rooms. "Kinomoto-sensei is at the very end, Daidouji Tomoyo's mother is the second to last, and we're the first one."

"Oh." Wang Changsheng nodded slightly. "What about Brother Xue Tu and the others?"

"The last one on the right, Snow Rabbit lives with that guy."

Upon hearing this, Wang Changsheng tilted his head. "That guy? You mean Xiaoying's older brother? What a strange room layout, isn't it?"

Wang Changsheng hadn't paid attention to the layout of the guesthouse while he was out, so although he found it strange, he figured it was normal for some of the buildings to be asymmetrical.

Without thinking much, he went to Sakura and Tomoyo's room and gently knocked on their door.

"Knock knock"

I only knocked twice.

A lively voice came from inside the house: "Coming!"

"Click"

The door was pulled open from the inside.

The first thing that jumped into Wang Changsheng's field of vision was the ahoge (cowlick) on Xiaoying's head that was bouncing around.

"Huh? Little Wang?" Sakura, who peeked out from the doorway, immediately beamed with joy upon seeing Wang Changsheng.

"You're back!"

"Um."

Just as Wang Changsheng was about to speak, a big, yellow head popped out from behind Xiaoying's neck.

"You brat, where have you been playing? You even left us here." Xiao Ke glanced at the people outside the door and, finding nothing to hide, leaned out and questioned Wang Changsheng.

"What do you mean by 'leaving you guys here'?" Wang Changsheng's lips twitched. "I just came to call you guys to go out and have some fun, didn't I?"

"Oh? Going out to play? Where to play? Is there anything good to eat?" Upon hearing that they could go out, Xiao Ke was even more excited than Xiao Ying, and asked Wang Changsheng a series of questions.

However, Wang Changsheng ignored it and simply held up a finger to it: "Shh."

"Stop nagging."

After saying that, he turned his gaze to Sakura, "There's a memorial service on the island, so I thought I'd come and ask if you wanted to go and see it. Tomoyo's mother has passed away, and I even ran into Conan and the others~"
