Chapter 255 She pouted her greasy lips and blew him a few kisses.
The narrow alleyway was filled with heart-wrenching screams and muffled groans.
Seven or eight people surrounded Lu Weidong, attacking him with knives and sticks.
A thug seized an opening and swung his bat at Lu Weidong's back, a sinister smile creeping across his face. This blow would keep him lying on the ground for half a month.
But as soon as the stick fell, the man's expression changed instantly.
It felt like being smashed into a reinforced concrete wall, the shock making my hands go numb, but the person on the other end didn't even flinch.
Before he could pull back his strength, a large hand gripped his wrist, and with a crack, his wrist bone dislocated.
The next second, the person was already flying out.
Lu Weidong moved through the crowd like an enraged cheetah.
He punched the man in front of him square in the face, causing blood to spurt from his nose. He then kicked the attacker in the back of the knee with his right foot, sending him sprawling to his knees.
As he turned, he elbowed the third man squarely in the jaw, causing him to collapse.
The remaining two tried to run away, but as soon as they turned around, their collars were tightened, and they were pulled back.
The alleyway was quiet.
Lu Weidong took a breath, looked down at the back of his hand, and saw that the skin was slightly scraped.
He glanced at the people lying haphazardly on the ground; some were still groaning, while others had already fainted.
The one on the far right who had been shouting the loudest was now clutching his broken wrist, curled up in a ball, his face as white as paper.
Lu Weidong walked over, grabbed the man by the back of his collar with one hand, and lifted him up like a chick.
The man grimaced in pain, but dared not struggle; he could only tremble and beg for mercy.
"Big brother...big brother, spare me..."
Lu Weidong ignored him, dragged the man to the utility pole at the alley entrance, and shoved him against the pole.
"Sit tight. If you dare run, you won't be able to move. Watch them. If they run, I'll come after you."
The man nodded repeatedly, huddled up in a ball, and dared not move.
Lu Weidong walked to the public phone booth at the alley entrance and dialed the military region's number.
"Hello, this is Lu Weidong..."
Lu Weidong briefly explained the situation to the military region's duty room and asked them to contact the local public security bureau to coordinate and handle the matter.
"Yes, Chief of Staff Lu, we will contact the police immediately."
"Oh, right, I have something to do, come quickly."
After hanging up the phone, Lu Weidong ran back to that alley.
Several thugs struggled to get up and run away, but when they saw Lu Weidong running back, they quickly lay back down on the ground.
"Stay put, none of you are leaving."
Lu Weidong turned around to pick up the two small bags of rice noodles, and touched them to check their temperature; they had become warm.
"Tsk..."
Feeling annoyed, he crossed his arms and sat on the steps of the alley, waiting for someone to come.
A dozen minutes later.
The sharp sirens and the roar of car engines approached from afar.
Three police SUVs and one military green truck were parked in a row at the entrance of the alley.
The car doors opened simultaneously, and the first to jump out were more than a dozen armed police officers, who quickly sealed off the alley entrance.
Immediately afterwards, a middle-aged cadre got out of an SUV and strode into the alley, followed by a team of police officers.
A platoon of soldiers from the local military region jumped off the large truck and lined up in formation. The leader's gaze swept across the scene before settling on the man on the steps with his arms crossed.
He strode forward, stood at attention, and gave a crisp military salute.
"Reporting to Chief of Staff Lu! The Yunnan Military Region guard platoon has been ordered to proceed. Requesting instructions!"
The middle-aged cadre also walked up to Lu Weidong, stood at attention, and gave a standard salute:
"Chief of Staff Lu, Zhang Yongnian, Deputy Director of the Kunming Municipal Public Security Bureau, has been dispatched. The Yunnan Military Region duty room has informed us of the situation, and we have immediately organized a platoon of twelve police officers to await your instructions."
Behind him, the team of police officers stood at attention, their eyes fixed on the man in plain clothes who was sitting on the steps carrying two lunch boxes.
The thugs who had been knocked down were still groaning, but their faces turned pale instantly when they saw this scene.
Lu Weidong stood up, dusted off his pants, and said casually:
"Thank you for your hard work. I was just taking a vacation, I didn't expect to cause such a stir."
He pointed to the people on the ground.
"Yesterday they tried to rob my wife in the street, and I dealt with them. Today this is a deliberate act of retaliation."
"I'm here on my honeymoon and didn't want to get involved, but this is a serious matter, and I suggest the local authorities take it seriously."
Lu Weidong's words made the deputy director's face turn red and white in turns.
"Chief of Staff Lu, this is a dereliction of duty on our part in maintaining public order. On behalf of the bureau, I apologize to you." Deputy Director Zhang said sincerely.
"Don't worry, we will deal with these people severely and give you an explanation."
Lu Weidong waved his hand, bent down and picked up the two bags of rice noodles on the steps, and touched them... they were already cold.
He frowned slightly and sighed.
Deputy Director Zhang, with his sharp eyes, immediately noticed the breakfast in his hand:
"Chief of Staff Lu, well... how about I have someone take you to get something hot?"
"No need," Lu Weidong shook his head.
"My partner is still waiting for me, I have to go now."
After saying that, he turned and strode away.
Lu Weidong didn't go back to the hotel. Instead, he went straight to the breakfast stall at the alley entrance and bought two more servings of hot rice noodles.
"Comrade, it's fresh out of the pot, eat it while it's hot!" the proprietress said with a smile, handing it over.
Lu Weidong nodded, picked up the rice noodles, and jogged back to the hotel.
I pushed open the door; the room was quiet.
Ye Wenxi was still asleep. She was lying on the bed, the blanket had slipped down to her waist, her smooth back was exposed, and her long hair was spread out on the pillow. She was sleeping soundly.
The morning light streamed in through the gaps in the curtains, casting a soft glow on her back.
Lu Weidong stood by the bed, looking at her sleeping so soundly, and couldn't help but smile.
He gently placed the rice noodles on the bedside table, bent down, and kissed her back a few times.
Ye Wenxi mumbled an "Mmm" in a daze.
Lu Weidong chuckled and patted her bottom.
"Wenxi, get up and have breakfast."
......
snore snore snore...
Ye Wenxi was drinking soup from an aluminum lunchbox.
"tasty!"
"Where did you get that lunchbox from?" Ye Wenxi asked.
"I borrowed it from the hotel restaurant. I saw you glance at that stall when you came back yesterday."
"When I went there this morning, it was indeed still there."
"Oh...you're so kind."
She pouted her greasy lips and gave him a few kisses.
"Knock knock—!" There was a knock on the door.
"Hmm? Are you asking me to return the lunchbox? Then I'll eat quickly." Ye Wenxi lowered her head and shoveled rice noodles into her mouth.
Lu Weidong opened the door and saw the hotel receptionist standing there with a smile.
"Hello, are you Comrade Lu?"
"Someone is waiting for you downstairs."
Lu Weidong frowned, clicked his tongue, and guessed who had come looking for him.
"Wenxi, I'm going downstairs." With that, she closed the door.
Not long after, Lu Weidong came up.
I have some more things in my hands.
Fruit, tourist souvenirs, and a car key.
Ye Wenxi: "?"
Ye Wenxi: "Don't tell me you bought it yourself."
